Last week we were all giddy about this staff and team. We had just handed WKU their collective butts on a platter. We felt good about ourselves. We even drank the kool-aid and posted about beating Florida. Then a better opponent came to town and tested our beloved team. We did not fair so well. We lost and from what I've been reading this morning so is the season. We have balmed the QB which I agree is not the best but hopefully help is on the way. I've even read it is the coaching staff which has not even been here a year. These are the same guys who we had on our shoulders last week and now we are kicking them out of town... Fickle fans that we are.

As I watched the game yesterday, I kept hearing the announcers talk about how this guy used to be a walkon and earned a scholly or this other guy who did the same. I began to think, Championship Teams do not have walkon players earn schollys and become starters. Championship teams recruit the best players in the country and build championship teams. I am going to hit the dead horse one more time. The Zero here is the great recruiting legend Phil Fulmer. He left the offensive cubbard as empty as you can get it. This current staff can't turn this program around over night. It is going to take at least two more years. Kiffin has to recruit an offense that works especially the line and QB. Good start on the backs and WRs.

Now, if we were to be lucky enough to upset Florida next week... will Lane and company go from Zero to Hero again?

i have faith in kiffin, i think kiffin knew that stepen wouldn't do any better. we have alot of talent on our team except for the most important position.

Walkons at MLB and C = a middle of the road SEC team.

Add to that fact that UT has a below average QB and a converted TE and DL playing on the Oline then that = trouble.

It'll be interesting to see if MH can last as team battering ram all season. He is the only thing that offense has going for it right now and if he goes down, then UT is REALLY in trouble.

Another good post today. Hopefully we see more of this.

Most everything is relative. UT was good last week, relative to who they were playing. In recruiting, it's the same way. CPF did a good job, relative to who was here when he first became HC. Of course, his only rival so to speak was Spurrier. Then in comes Richt, and Saban, and later, Miles. Now, Meyer has taken over at UF and that hasn't changed. CPF became irrelevant after those coaching changes. All the good recruits were going to those up and coming programs, who were tired of being second tier programs. It will take CLK a little time to get his recruits in. Meanwhile, all we can do as fans is....be patient (and cry).

You are so 100% right, man. Phil Fulmer left with the bad QB and some offence player. That hurt for new coaching staff in the long run. But when new coaching take over the teams, more likely they will make player better. When high school player see that. Which they can see it, cause of two different coaching staff. They will commits.

How hards is it. To see it, people. I can see it and I know you all can see. LK and co. still need THEIR player from recuiting class to turn the program around. This is their start. They have no choice on player they have but the player THEY recuit.

Yes I know they lost to UCLA but we still got so many games to play this season. We can still win a lot games this year. Do not give up hope or count them out yet, people. We MIGHT still lose to gators next week, which I'M NOT going to give up on it yet. Remember we been saying on this web site that we 7-5, 8-4, 9-3 teams this year. Depend who we are that say that. I said that we be 8-4 or 9-3 team.

I see it so many time every years. That teams get so much better DURING the season go on. Tenn. VOLS have done it every years, except last years. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP. THEY NEED OUR SUPPORT, AND THEY WILL BE BETTER THAT LAST YEAR.

Don't believe that UCLA was the "better" opponent, I would say more of an equal opponent which we failed to beat.....we had an opportunity to score the go ahead TD but 4 straight runs failed to get us in the endzone....this loss was due to poor play selection, poor OL play and most certainly poor QB play....this was a game we should have won.

You're correct we don't have a lot of offensive talent...that will cost us in games against UF, BAMA, GA and possibly SC for which I do blame CPF but Saturday's loss is on this staff's shoulders not Phil's. In a weird way I admire CLK for leaving JC in but I also pity his judgment on doing so.

Have to wonder how many of players & staff bought off on the same hype from the WKU win like some fans did.

Kiffin is trying to stick with a starter and hope it pays dividends at the end of the season.

I don't blame him.

CLK is and will remain the hero. For now, he has to play with some less than desireable talent *cough*cough* His job is to make lemonade out of all of the lemons he inherrited. Sometimes it will work, most of the time it won't.

Once he perfects the recipe, even the CLK haters will be drinking it.

I am still amazed to see threads calling for Kiffin's head at midnight. He even admitted to the fact that maybe a sweep would have been a better call down at the goal line. This staff is just getting started. I noticed that there were 3 commitments on Sunday, 2 on defense and 1 wr. I'm looking for OL myself. Without those guys no QB is good. There is where we should be looking and anticipating as fans.

IF we beat Florida next week (chance being .000001%), no one is even going to care about the UCLA loss. We would have put ourselves in position to win the SEC East.

0 percent chance we beat florida next week 1-2. after seeing what i saw on saturday i would say we have no shot a bowl this year. we are rebuilding. i just hope the coaches do a better job, because it seemed like fulmer was calling the plays yesterday.

yeah good post. i know its easy to blame crompton or say kiffin called the wrong play any maybe he did. but the way we should think about it is it we couldint score the winning TD on the 1 yard line then we didint deserve to win. keep in mind we are rebuilding and as much as we want to win this year its not going to happen. we will go to a bowl but we are not going to be in atlanta. kiffin knows what he is doing and will get some talent in here....have faith!

this is the problem i have. according to mr kiffin we are not rebuilding. he created the buzz, he just failed in my opinion to come through for the fans. if we wanted excuses we should have kept fulmer. opinions vary, but i don't see a bowl in our future unless something happens with our qb play.

I understand he pretty much accepted all the blame.
