We are only now just beginning to see the O that buTch and his O coordinator wanted to run from day 1.

They didn't have the really good, SEC type players to get it going so they had to work with what they had until recruiting got their types of players on the roster.

buTch wants a balanced O that he can use to do several things like...

1...Run the ball strong

2...Control the clock and the game

3...Spread the field vertically and horizontally

4...Have good passing using both WR's and TE's as effective, dangerous weapons

5...Keep the D from stacking the box to make us 1 dimensional

6...Put lots of points on the board as fast as possible to force the other team to pass alot to try to catch up so we get INT's and hopefully pick 6's for a scoring D

7...Keep all our RB's, WR's and TE's happy because they'll all be making plays and getting stats they want which WIL aso help recruiting of really good players

8...Get lots of WINS so we can build towards a Natonal Championship!!

We still do NOT have a solid 2 deep gameday rotation with SEC type players at all positions but that WILL come with good recruiting and as the WINS start to pile up the recruiting will only get better as will our solid depth so that when 1 player comes off the field another starter quality player will go right back on.

Dobbs has only showed us a tiny bit of what buTch is working hard to build for all of us to enjoy watching and cheer for but we're still 2 or 3 recruiting classes away from the finished product.

Being patient after 10 years of bad football is killing all of us but hang in a bit longer and you'll love it when we WIN the SEC East, the SEC and beyond.

It's going to be loads of fun when our Vols take the field and everyone expects to see the other team get totally buTch slapped!

It all makes me wonder why Dobbs wasn't playing much earlier.

1...All the info we heard was that Dobbs was having serious problems with his passing so JW gave us the best chance to try to get Wins.

2..It's also rumored that Dobbs parents wanted him to get a redshirt season and with injuries last year that just wasn't a option so buTch tried to redshirt him this year and be able to have Dobbs for 3 more playing years starting next season but that didn't work out either.

He still needs work on his passing game but he's smart and a hard worker so by next year he just might become really dangerous as a runner and a passer and then how does anyone defend us?

I am like so totally confused. Why do you refer to our coach as buTch? I assume you are capitalizing the T for Tennessee but what about capitalizing the U and the T at the same time? Then you would have bUTch. However, you chose to use a small b and well, grammatically speaking, everyone knows that the first letter of every name starts with a Cap, so if you did that and the other stuff above, you should be referring to our coach as BUTch. So,since calling him BUT is just wrong, how about sticking with CBJ like rest of us?

If any of you have read the posts the op seems to be responding to,
You should understand his need to point out the obvious.

Okay...yea. Now I see it. Wow...They wanted to actually win games. Thanks for pointing this out 'cause I sure didn't see it before. It's a win scheme.

Not to pile on OP, but it's hard for me to believe that Dobbs performance over the past two weeks was just a "tiny bit" of what Butch has planned. Saturday was one of the most epic performances by a single player in vol history. Here's to more "tiny" performances in the future!

It wasn't just a one time thing though. Against bama he looked just as good against a better defense. Everyone said well now they expect him and will plan for him. He then goes on to have a record day.

So, Butch wants to be able to run, pass, block, control the clock, and win. not asking for too much. i mean, is there any part of the offense that he doesn't want?

Speak for yourself. I do not think you understand. Your comment...."They didn't have the really good, SEC type players to get it going so they had to work with what they had until recruiting got their types of players on the roster." is ludicrous!! Josh Dobbs has been at Tennessee for quite sometime. So, I guess you do not understand. I was just wondering what took the coaches so long to play Dobbs???????????

I think we would all agree Dobbs is better than last year, correct???? Well maybe he got some coaching along the way. Maybe at beginning of year he wasn't ready. I'm sure CBJ just didn't wake up and say screw it I'm playing JW no matter what. If you believe Dobbs is better then maybe these guys know how to coach. But why waste a opportunity to ***** and moan right!!!

If you dont have the players to run your style of offense (Worley) then its probably a good idea to tailor your offense a bit to your QB. Nah, what we did was much better.
