Yeah but that's college football math and we all know it just isn't always accurate. You have to factor in the gravity of the streak and the fact that this a rivalry game with a lot of attention.

Hopefully your right, but I don't pay attention to things like this. Games like this are won on coaching and momentum. It's on you, Butch. Please give us this win.

OP sorry to break it to you but the transitive property doesnt work in football.

Sure it does. Lou Holtz used it all the time while coaching at Notre Dame.

Well A beat B, B beat C, we play A in two weeks ( notice haven't even played yet...) therefore Notre Dame should be number 1!

Virginia Tech beat Boston College 49-0 this past Saturday, and Boston College beat UMass 26-7 a week ago. Why is this interesting? Because Florida beat UMass by an almost identical score. So the Vols handily beat a team that curbstomped BC (who beat UMass by the same margin as Florida). What am I saying? The Vols can (and should) win this game. The Vols may not be very good right now, but we are definitely good enough to beat Florida. #Endthestreak.

Yeah, I think a lot of people went "oh, but Virginia Tech kept fumbling, that wasn't Tennessee's win as much as Virginia Tech's loss." Which, for the record, I think is a load of crap. Tennessee punched up 45 points on Tech. Tennessee is a good team. Are they a championship team? They don't look like a Louisville or Alabama right now, but Tennessee is good. They've faced a game they could have lost and survived, won what felt like a bowl game in week 2 (which is weird, for the record), and then sputtered past another opponent on the approach to Florida. Tennessee is good. Tennessee is 3-0. They have a lot of weapons and a lot of smart people driving the bus. Have a little faith.

So in 2014
Virginia Tech Beat Ohio State
ECU Beat Virginia Tech
South Carolina Beat ECU
Tennessee Beat South Carolina

Boom national champs baby!

Also by your theory Miami would beat the dog piss out of UT, which I don't buy for one minute

And Kevin Bacon filmed a movie in South Carolina, boom did it in only 5 degrees of separation.

So, if we have a math contest rather than a football game, the odds are in our favor? Got it!

Pretty sure Dobbs could beat the entire fighting jorts by himself if it was a math game. Dude is to math and football what Bo Jackson was to football and baseball.

Well, it certainly played a part in it. However, when the ball is on the ground both teams can recover it. UT made those plays and capitalized by scoring.

That kind of transference never works. If it did, you could prove how a 1 win team that beat anything but a 0 win team.... should beat the national champ.
