Its not really big or anything but alittle look inside the QB race. A guy we went to highschool with played at UT and is on the staff now. Heres his opinion of our QBs. JC there was no competition for the starting job it was his from the get go, they babied him hoping he would finally get it. They have also babied him for the first 4 games trying not to hurt his confidence. This last week he said is the only time they have really gotten after him, he said they were letting him have it for the bad decisions he was making in practice this week, the kid gloves finally came off for JC. NS has a NFL arm, but has had a hard time understanding the offense, but should get better with full time reps, but his problem he says is with understanding the offense and reading the defense. BJ is the smartest of the bunch and picks things up alot quicker but doesnt have the arm of either JC or NS. He said this offense is complex and difficult to learn and your QB has to have the ability to throw the ball down the field and thats why BJ has not gotten his shot yet. Not that hes weak armed but cant throw it like the other 2 can. The timeouts you have seen takin that seemed kinda silly have been because the coches are giving the QBs 2 plays and they have 2 read the defense and check 2 the right play but he says they cant read defenses yet and just run a busted play so they are having 2 call timeout and get them in the right play. There is no audible for these guys. Take it for what its worth but just talked with him yesterday and this is what he told me.
