Pure conjecture but if this started around UK it goes a long way to explaining why the team fell off a cliff. Coaches distracted with an investigation that could result in their termination for cause.

25 years is Peyton (doesn’t make a lot of sense), Tee or Jay. Guessing it’s more likely it’s someone on staff that would be involved w/recruiting.

For those happy about the $$$ we may save we would be better off paying it and hiring a different coach. NCAA sanctions will depress this program even further. No one coming of worth w/o chance to play in post season or be competitive w/big boys due to lack of scholarships.

Best case this sounds like USC. All bad.

The twisted part is I am okay with the program getting flushed for a few seasons with sanctions if it’s like a 1-2 season bowl ban or scholarship reductions. Hire a new coach and they are assured 4-5 years minimum.

At least we wouldn’t have the torture of hope every year. 😂.

We don’t want the roster hit. We get docked scholly’s and we are in the same boat from CBJ. Then we are 4-5 years out, again.

This is my take also. I've felt we couldn't afford, actually couldn't afford the money, to get rid of Pruitt but sanctions or even increased NCAA attention isn't good for a struggling program.

I think Pruitt needs to go but the program needs to get stronger and Pruitt leaving under a cloud and perhaps with other coaches also doesn't strengthen the program.

It makes recruiting harder and hiring staff harder at a time when we can't afford a hit in either area.

All bad.

IF Tennessee is going down the road to accuse Pruitt of illegal recruiting, to fire him, it is dirty and embarrassing. Not worth pulling for an organization that would do this!

I agree and have said it before. If this is anyone internally stabbing this coaching staff in the heart, bleeding them out publicly like this in order to get out of some of the buyout (???), then what will follow in the coming years will make a $20million buyout seem cheap.

FOS response from Pruitt if the hard drives were confiscated two months ago. All the players probably knew too for a good part of the season.

Man, I luv these insiders and all the conspiracy chatter. Keeps my mind off bamas title and thinking about where we could be if meatloaf had signed with us instead of the gators. Damn.
