I was not sure where to put this but Vegas is starting to put out their odds for national championship contenders in 2020 and they are including Tennessee:

College football championship for 2020 season
  • Clemson +225
  • Alabama +350
  • Ohio State +450
  • LSU +600
  • Georgia +800
  • Florida +1400
  • Auburn +2000
  • Notre Dame +2500
  • Oklahoma +2500
  • Texas +2500
  • Michigan +3300
  • Oregon +3300
  • Penn State +3300
  • Texas A&M +4000
  • Florida State +5000
  • Wisconsin +5000
  • Oklahoma State +6600
  • Tennessee +6600
  • USC +6600
  • Iowa State +10000
  • Kentucky +10000
  • Miami (FL) +10000
  • Minnesota +10000
  • Nebraska +10000
  • Utah +10000
  • Washington +10000
  • Iowa +15000
  • BYU +50000
Obviously at +6600 we are in the dark horse type category but at least we are getting some consideration.
Lol they've lost their minds.

Not the type of consideration I want for our team. After the Whoooooping we are going to lay on OK-those numbers will change, and change quickly.....I'm smelling a NATY

Texas A&M could be 10-0 and ranked in the Top 10 going into the Alabama and LSU games

Abilene Christian
North Texas
Colorado
Arkansas @ Arlington,Texas
@Mississippi State
Fresno State
@Auburn
@South Carolina
Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
@Alabama
LSU
This. AandM’s season will depend on Alabama.

Yeah I think AU is a better program and team right now, aTm just has a better schedule. AU is pretty impressive how in spite of yearly smoke and speculation about Gus, staff, and other stuff they have maintained a really good performance level. Bet they will beat aTm but finish lower.

Without taking an in-depth look at their roster changes...I think UF will win East based largely on QB and uga losing so much on OL. UT will win 8-9 reg season with a good upset but also good chance of losing to a dog.

Nah, Auburn lost too much on their DL and OL. A&M lost their C, their punter, a DL, a WR who sucked, and a decent WR and that’s it. They return a ton of starters.

I don't get all the love A&M is getting for next year. Didn't they have the same record we did, and look pretty uninspiring in getting to said record? I don't get it.
Not all 7-5s are the same. The play in the West and they played Clemson OOC. I’m not super high on TAM for next year, although I believe their schedule helps them get to probably 9 wins compared to 2019s. But they had a much tougher road to get to 7 wins than Tennessee did, not even close.

Maybe so. Like I said, haven’t looked in depth at roster losses,etc. But in general I would take AU’s staff and recruiting over aTm’s, plus Nix should be improved. I tend to believe Jimbo is a better OC than HC and never would’ve won a MNC w/o a transcendent college QB and elite defense run by an elite DC....Jeremy Pruitt. He had 10 all-Americans and arguably the best C, DB, RB, PK, QB, maybe more. If those kids had chosen an SEC school it wouldn’t have been aTm and it won’t be in the future. IMO...

I am a Tennessee fan. After the turnaround this year and with who we have coming in and back, I can see it. Florida and Bama at home will be tough for sure but, Oklahoma and Georgia will be worse. If we finish better than last year the next year and get to a better bowl every year, I'm good with that. If I were CJP, I would put this on the bulletin board and convince my players it is possible.

Seems reasonable. Tennessee really needs a QB to move up.

D played good this year. Offense was awful most of the year.

I think with an above average QB we may be able to compete for the East soon.

Yeah, but who recruited that transcendent college QB? Jimbo did. Elko (DC) is better than Auburn’s with what he’s had to work with (Sumlin recruits) and Jimbo is bringing in those types of recruits to A&M - Top 5-6 class right now for 2020. Our best players are fish - once we get rid of Sumlin recruits, we’ll be much better.

2020 is the year we take back Neyland for good. No more losses to anyone besides Bama and UGA at home and that is only once every 7-8 years. We will beat Florida or Bama this year along with OU.

Ohhhhh....did not realize you’re an Aggie. Cool. Jimbo is a good coach, I just don’t believe he will ever duplicate the success he had at FSU. Recruiting to FSU vs aTm are just different animals IMO. Good luck tho.

They're very average. Because they have a very average QB.
