There’s one thing notably missing from Tennessee’s storied football history — a Heisman Trophy winner. Through six national title seasons, no Volunteer has ever won the prestigious award. Really over the last two decades, no Tennessee player has even really come close.

Am I the only one who don’t care about this meaningless trophy? When Paul Hornung was gifted it over Majors and then decades later it was handed to Charles Woodson, it effectively demonstrated how meaningless it is.

I don’t think it’s “meaningless” but it’s turned into more of a popularity contest.

I think college football is better when USC is relevant. However, I’m already sick of everyone pumping Caleb Williams and especially Lincoln Riley. Lincoln Riley is soft until he isn’t.

All roads have the same end.
You don’t get better running from competition.
Unless he gets help he won’t win there either

He’ll have an easier path for sure. We’ll see what happens we he has to play the SEC if he makes the CFP. The PAC-12 in general needs to step it up.

God how I loathe this thread. (and with all due respect, no offense to the author, just the title)

We have a winning season, by one game, for the second time in 5 years and we, IMO, should not be spending two seconds discussing a Heisman Trophy candidate on our team. And why might you ask? Because we, the fans, cannot afford to get ourselves all whipped up in a lather on an individual's notoriety and or success (which we as individuals like to tie on to) until the entire team and coaching staff are all singularly focused on winning the next game - not individual accolades.

Hooker is a talented young man, and if we wind up with 11 Wins at the end of the season, then we can boast about how good Hooker and or other possible breakthrough players played.

Focus on Team Wins and God willing, we have another winning season! That is my focus, and if others disagree, then I respect your opinions.

GBO!

When Manning was so obviously ripped off I quit giving a flying fart about the heisTman garbage or who gets that useless trash.

I give credit to Woodson for being a good player but NOT Manning level good by any means.

Piss on the heisTman!

Four months late. Hooker was +9900 on A247 on February 16. Young and Stroud were both +650, also
