I’m really trying, but at this point the whole thing has become the opposite of entertainment

Well there is a low bar for entertainment people still tune in. IMO its for 2 reason just not much to do so you attach yourself to a team as a fan. Most fans are just game day rah rah I wear my shirt & cap to the game or to the sports bar. They know very little about the players they just see a orange jersey with a number on it. Now they may know a fan favorite like ZZ. It wouldnt matter to some who was playing as lts an event to go out to. Now if they start losing every game then whoever is shelling out the money for the outing may stop. Even in the bad years with Buzz & Wade Houston years we still come out. Nascar racing did take a big dip from the80s & 90s and has never recovered, so it can happen.
