CBS affiliate in Jacksonville is reporting former Vol, who transferred to Newberry College, was found dead. No foul play or drugs suspected. Prayers for his family.

That is very sad. I actually knew Heath Benedict because I worked out with him and his brother all last summer every day and had the same trainer. This is a sad story he was a good guy and was always nice to me when he didnt have to. Sad, sad story.

I knew Heath when he was growing up in South Carolina...actually used to pressure him to pick UT when he was in high school.

He was a good guy. Sad.

Just a little information on Benedict.

He was part of the UT 2002 signing class. He was a Rivals 4 star recruit and part of the Rivals Top 100. He was the #7 Off. Linemen in the country. He was 285 lbs then so he had put on about 50 lbs. He was also listed as running a 4.82 forty. The guy was obviously very talented. Sad story.

I didn't know him, but just did a little research and found it interesting.
