I heard on 104.5 this morning that people are calling Crompton OchoStinko since he wears the #8 and Nick Stevens PickNick. As much as I dont like to make fun of Vols players, I will have to say I laughed pretty hard at the OchoStinko comment, the PickNick one has been going around for a while. I feel like I need to laugh to keep from crying about the whole Crompton situation anyways. Hopefully he can pull it together for a few games and prove people wrong.

That's pretty good, although I think my all-time fave nickname was "Barely Bates" - Jeremy Bates QB 1995... He's like 3' 4".

A few good games to negate the whole slew of bad? Crompton has unfortunately already left his mark.

I'm glad you added that last piece to your comments. I'm frustrated too, but he's a college kid, not a professional making big money. Yes, its frustrating to see him struggle to get the team downfield. He's not a Tee Martin or Heath Shuler (mobile), so protection is the only way he can have time to look and throw the ball down field. Simply put...he's a pocket passer only. The WKU game was an anomoly because he won't see that slim competition again in his career. SOooo...CLK was right in that the offensive staff HAS to call plays that will enable him to get the ball off quickly and not sit back in the pocket and get pressured into bad throws.

ehhh...man i hope he doesint get on here and read all this crap said about him. lord if he does no wonder he has no confidence...i really hope he does well..i mean flordia has had so much. we are due for a classic upset. i wish we would focus on that instead on how crompton isint magicly a superstar. you all should have known that going in. think about it this way..we have NOTHING to loose and florida has everything to loose and they think they are going to stomp us..kiffin better be working on somthing to trick this defense

they asume we are going to run all night and they are going to stack the box. we have to get a throwing game going so we can get them to rush sho we can throw some screens etc...

A new word coined:
On 790 the Zone in Atlanta, David Pollack (afternoon host and former Bulldog) referred to the "incrompetence" of UT's quarterback.

Crompton knew early last week that Coach Kiffin had different expectations for him this game. “Coach told me after WKU (5 TDs, over 300 yards passing) to just settle down and be the QB I’ve always been. So I did.”

got this from another board...:lolabove:

Anyone, whether it be a former all-american or a fair weather fan is a true a-hole for making fun of a college kid giving it all for his university. Whether the kid is good or not is not the issue. It's not right to make fun of them. I'm sure if it was David Pollock's kid not playing well, he would have a different perspective.

I look at it this way, Crompton was given a scholarship to play ball for us. Crompton is a thief.........he stole that scholarship money!

Before anyone replies back.......I am kidding!

He's the best we got...we better get behind him...we know what the outcome will be if we don't

I thought his nick name was Boo. I thought I heard a lot of people calling out this nick name last year and again Saturday. By the way, that is a common nick name in some mountain parts, but not quite as common as Bubba.

The sad part is that I have met Crompton and he is one of the nicest guys you will ever want to meet. Ut was always his favorite team and he always wanted to play here. I actually blame fulmer for giving him the lack of confidence that he has. I also blame Fulmer for his laziness in recruiting the last few years so that Crompton is the best QB left on this team. He should be 3rd on the depth chart if Fulmer was doing his job right. Also look at the talent that Fulmer hasnt developed the last 4-5 years. All the 5 star and most of the 4 stars that he recruited didnt even pan out at all except for Eric Berry. I will back Crompton all year if I have to and hopefully this kid can get his sh*t together and just manage the game for us.

Heres something that made me laugh harder than I ever have on something online. I was squaking online Monday about how fans can be worse than losses and losing seasons. I asked my Vol buddies on cbssports to cheer me up with a joke or something. One guy then posted,

"Crompton walks into a bar and throws an interception."

LOL
