Heads Will Explode - David Lynch on Trump

Trump brought this up during a rally in South Carolina tonight. I bet he had never even heard of David Lynch before seeing this quote. Now, he will talk about him like he's Steven Spielberg or Stanley Kubrick. LOL!

I liked Twin Peaks (in it's one season) but not much else he has done is notable. I guess Elephant Man was good... but Dune was terrible and Eraserhead was just plain weird.

Mulholland Drive was good. Lots of Naomi Watts in that.

Not notable? I get not liking his stuff but many of his works are more than notable.

Dune is bad if you want it to be Dune but it's good if you want it to be a David Lynch movie.

Blue Velvet is a classic. Mulholland Dr. very good. I'm sure I'm missing

I forgot about Blue Velvet. That was good too. I never saw Mulholland Drive. Denis Villenueve (Blade Runner 2049) is remaking Dune. It should be much better than Lynch's take.

Is it going to be a multi-parter? Dune is tough to compress into a single movie. Also hard because of so much internal dialogue. Would love to see it done faithfully.

I read all six of Herbert's series - haven't read any that his son and others added.

Not sure he’ll go down as the greatest ever. What Trump did do was an epic accomplishment, against almost all odds and the powerful dirty nasty DC Swamp-Establishment. One things for sure, his victory will never be forgotten, along with all the mainstream media vitriol and fake news, the Trump Tweets, the Hilary fix and the phony dossier that spurred the Russian collusion fantasy...and don’t forget the Obama administrations Spygate operation.

Never in a million years. He is universally despised by half the country.

Being considered a great president has zero to do with how popular one is. What matters is what gets done in the term/terms of said president. He has already done some pretty historically great things. And if he gets a second term, who knows what could happen.

Remember, Trump had a very slim chance at becoming president in the first place.

The only Presidents who seem to be able to unify us are those that lead us through a righteous war. Vietnam and Iraq being examples of non-righteous wars.

But really the only threat to us now is Russia. Trump is more likely to just hand them some states than go to war. At least as long as they have the videos.

I see China as a bigger threat than Russia.
