Head Coaches as position coaches

The arguement used by Fulmer is that as head coach, he doesn't have the time to coach the o-line (a cause of concern for several years).

Yet Spurrier and Gundy at Ok. St. are offensive coordinators (Spurrier is also QB coach) and Meyer is actively involved with specil teams, just to name a few.

What is the deal?

Calling plays is one thing, but I've never thought Head Coaches should be position coaches.

Hey if you have the skill set and know how there should be no problem with a head coach being a position coach.

That just seems ridiculous to me. If he doesn't have time then find somebody who does.
