Many "average jobs" are built exactly on those things. Construction. The military. Mining. Farming. Fire-Rescue. Policing. Teaching. Nursing.

The services and teams are another league of their own with regards to commitment, teamwork, etc...
(But still yet, most enlistees do not spend nearly a decade of their lives prior, preparing and committing to TEAMWORK, coaches, and processes similar to the comparison you try to make to American football players).
And as lofty as your aspirations for the other examples (occupations) you listed are-- it is not realistic, again imo, to compare them to competitors of team sports making millions off of brands and fans that predicate the evolution of the platform for decades, where there is an unspoken, but established and understandable culture in place that is the heart of the sport immemorial.
With all due respect, all of the occupations you listed do not require the years of prior dedication to the TEAM philosophy and craft, to make it to the D1 level or equivalent, in any of the occupations listed above or otherwise; again excluding the high speed operators and OUR enlisted men and women CONUS and OCONUS, "Huah!". With respect again, anyone can volunteer extra commitment to their civilian mos, but it isn't required to achieve such goals at such levels. Surely, that makes sense right?
We're not disputing civil purpose for comparison or grievance. We're talking about a very accountable young man, and his family benefiting and disrespecting an entire culture and brand that provided him the platform and opportunity for him, Nico to prosper. Then he betrayed all that made it so, in an egregious display and fashion.
