I love this show, but I have to say, I'm ready to start pulling for our protagonist. The problem is I don't see that happening anytime soon. If anything he's becoming more of a scumbag with every episode.

Let's say this season ends with Richie getting arrested for the murder he's been trying to cover up all season. At this point I wouldn't care, and I wouldn't see it as a cliffhanger, because honestly I would feel it serves him right.

I hope it all turns out horrible for him and we get to watch him further downward spiral into the 9th hell. That's the show for me. And I think it's pretty good. When you think he can't get any lower, boom.

I WANT this series to be good because I love the subject matter and the time period, but 8 episodes in I'm just not feeling it.

I'm about 65% behind this series. Things aren't looking good for Richie, but I'm thinking he get's his mob friends to help out with pinning the murder on the other guy.

Season 1 spoiler about Andrew Dice Clay:

ADC didn't want to lose his job on the series so when they did his death scene, for the first 19 takes he said "my wife's ****ing my twin brother" instead of "my wife's ****ing my brother". He wanted a chance to play the brother if they needed the brother for the story in the future. They got him to do the 20th take with the right line, and that's the one that made the cut.

Agreed, but bad enough to be cancelled after one season is a bit strong.

It's being said that HBO wanted to give it another season but was canceled because of budgeting. They're spending a ton of money on their upcoming Michael Crichton show "Westworld." Vinyl just happened to be the show to fall on the sword to create more budget for it.
