Haynesworth may be headed back to Titans

It is absurd to pretend, as a Titans fan, that you don't want Haynesworth back in Nashville.

Either way, the Redskins will come out of this looking like complete morons.

why?. cause we want the fat lazy pos to whom we payed alot of money to, to live up to his end of the contract. i dont think that is looking moronic. i look at it as business. which is all the nfl is about. AH just needs to grow up and live up to his end of the deal.

Because you paid 100 million for a guy who won't even give 75% effort on the field and won't ever as a Redskin, and if you trade him I'd be surprised if its for more than a 3rd. Redskins lose either way, and your talking a crap load of money down the toilet.

well snyder has money to burn... he has been doing that since he bought the team....but i still don't see how that makes washington look like morons, players do it all the time, every year. im glad they took it to the news... how many fat albert jokes have you cause of it... don't they call that conditioning test he took... the haynesworth test? and mike golic showed that he could do it and notre dame had a thing about it on espn.. so yeah, call him out, make an example outta of him..make fun of him, i don't really care, just get him outta DC!

Give me the best Defensive tackle in the game, regardless. He immediately elevates the Titans' defense.

I really wonder what the compensation demand is. It's probably in the ball park of a 3rd and a 5th, which is what Kris Jenkins and Marcus Stroud went for.

Considering the fact that the contract's guaranteed money has been paid out and he's still got several years left on it, it's a good bargain for the Titans. They'd be getting back a premier player at a pivotal position for their defense. But they've invested two 2nd RD picks on Jason Jones and Sen'Derrick Marks in preparation for Fat Al's loss, and to get him back they'd have to resolve themselves to knowing they used those picks on rotational players (although Jason Jones will still get a lot of playing time) in addition to shelling out even more picks to bring AH back. Nevertheless, I have little doubt that a rotation of AH, Brown, Jones, and Marks would bring the DL back to elite status.

And yes, Albert was only an All Pro during his contract years. But he was still a good player prior to those two years when he was healthy. I'm not expecting a one-man-defense if he returned to TN, but he'll still be a very good player. I don't see why any fan would be against bringing AH back.

No it isn't. He's the best DT around, but it doesn't matter if he's taking plays off, causing problems in the locker room, and costing too high of draft picks and salary cap space for his actual contribution.

If we could just HAVE him, that'd be great. But he's freaking expensive, and not just salary-wise.

Maybe you need to reason through the scenario. He wouldn't be expensive at all. He's a coaching leadership challenge and it's apparently one that mullet excels in. Guys like Haynesworth are rare and are where NFL defenses have to start.

He never was a locker room cancer in Tennessee and there's no salary cap this year (and his hit is pretty pedestrian anyway) so that's not an issue. The Skins have already paid the guaranteed money, which is the issue in these signings. The Titans would just owe Haynesworth his yearly salary, and could cut him at any time without much consequence.

You certainly have to worry about players who take plays off and sometimes don't give their full effort. But AH at 75% would be the best run-stuffer the defense has, and he'd still be drawing blockers and freeing up Jason Jones/Tony Brown to go 1-on-1 with a Guard. Not to mention, our heavy rotation would decrease plays taken off due to fatigue (which happens a lot for Fat Al).

The only issue that comes to mind is his injury history. He's always dealing with some nagging injury, and he's never 100% at the end of the year during the playoffs when the team needs him most (well, technically no player is 100% at the end, but either way, he's not as dominant of a player as he was during the early-mid part of the season.) If the team gives up draft picks and then falls back into the mode of relying on AH for defensive success and him flaming out come playoff time, then that'd be a point of concern. But with the talent currently on the DL, hopefully they could use AH sparingly in order to have him when he's most needed most. I'd hope they keep the post-Albert mold for the defense going forward despite his return.

Just my thoughts though.

Nope, the media is all over AH on this

The only way we look like idiots on this is if AH's check bounces

The trade talk, has been shot down multiple times by the Skins.

yeah the media is definitely in Shanahan's (sp?) corner on this one

they are, though, starting to give that push of "he needs to be off the team" like they did with Terrell Owens and the Cowboys
