Have we been watching yet another Top 10 Volunteer Sqaud?

It looks different from the Top 10 teams we've seen in the past, but these other teams look different too. Nobody appears extraordinary.

I'm not sure Tennessee jumps Hawaii or Florida. Florida beat Tennessee badly and Hawaii only has 1 loss.

imo, this season's final poll will be about timing and quality of losses more than quality of the teams and their wins. There is no way on earth that we should be ranked ahead of UF, but we're likely to and our records are similar.

THat makes perfect sense, but Florida at 12 has to drop and there's no way we're not moving up at least 3 spots.

IMO, unless Hawaii makes a game of this, they are likely to fall like a rock.

I agree . . . but that's just the nature of polling.

Hawaii will plummet. They sat at 16 forever and unless this game gets real close, that is where they will end.

We whipped UGA and they unquestionably will be ranked ahead of us. We should jump UF. The way they played against UM, who's to say we couldn't beat them now. It's time to let go of all the Florida worship. Another season like this one, and the Urban Legend will be on the hot seat--rightfully so when you consider how much worse he and his staff made that team over the course of the 2007 season.

with parity and better competition if anything a top ten finish now is better than 10 years ago. and i'm shocked we're in contention to have one

I agree. I am shocked too, but it is what it is... and we deserve that outcome as much as others, IMO.

Bottom line... our team showed tremendous heart and character in turning the season around. That's how this team should be remembered. With so many players returning next year, it's ideal preparation in many respects. They all now know that hard work and effort combined with the talent they have pays divididends. All they have to do is reap the benefits in 2008!
