Have a Question I'd Like Pearl to Answer

I don't know about five, but there was at least another second. I thought the ref was going to go to the table to look at the monitor, but oddly it never happened.

The more important question is why the refs weren't requested to review the timeout and add time back to the clock. That was the worst "home clock" worker I've ever seen. Cam called the TO with at least 5 seconds left, the whistle blew, and the clock operator was too slow on the button. They should have had at least 5 seconds.

All you do is criticize everyone. It is so easy to sit in your chair and yadda, yadda, yadda. Maybe you can throw a beer can at the TV and the right play or player will emerge. Second guessing and why who didn't do what is easy. I hope it makes you feel better, but it won't win any games.

If he threw a beer can, they would probably have him ejected from TBA. I guess you are one of the folks who believes we should simply support and be pleased with terrible play.

Coaches get paid millions of dollars. They deserve the criticism if the situation calls for it.

You guys are hilarious. You act as if Pearl is above reproach or something. I'm sorry that I see two consecutive games where we shoot halfcourt shots when we're down by a point as less than a stellar job by the head coach in drawing up a play.

Did we just become negavols? We should never question a losing play call even if it's happened two weeks in a row to unranked opponents. Blasphemy.

Supposedly it's automatic. There is no "clock operator." The clock supposedly stops automatically on a whistle.

I assume the same holds true for NCAA as NBA, but I know in the NBA there are some refs that use the system that ties the whistles to the clock and some that don't. They aren't 100% reliable either.

In the USC game, the whistle had blown and the ref had raised his hand easily a full second before the clock stopped.

Even if my eyes were fooling me and the clock was right, I would have liked for Bruce to have an assistant asking for a review.

I agree with that. That certainly couldn't have hurt anything. That whole situation was a disaster from a coaching standpoint.

This is what the press need to stomp him with: CBP could have called TO at 10 seconds. Why in the world did he wait!?

The fact that pearl didn't call a timeout when we got the rebound was not necessarily a bad coaching move. Every coach looks at it different some believe in that situation go with it and try to get something in transition. Others believe wait till it crosses half court to take full court pressure away and then of course some may believe call a TO as soon as u get the ball and there is also coaches who will tell you it depends on the team that year. There are many factors that go into this: 1) How much do I trust my pg 2) Are we better in transition? 3) Does my team know whose hands to put the ball in? So I don't buy the fact that pearl blew that one. What made it look bad is his team looked like a deer in the headlights and instead of pushing and attacking Cam got scared and called a TO with 3,5 left.

What was inexcusable is the last play drawn up by pearl. I promise you that most coaches in that situation are trying to get a shot inside the paint where at least if I am aggressive and don't make the shot there is a chance im going to the free throw stripe for the "W". If the best shot I can get is a 4 man taking a runner from 30 feet then I should let a kid draw something up on an etch a sketch board.

Yeah I posted that right after the game. I'm pretty much over it now JMo
