I'm not thrilled with the way the game went but I'm glad we won nonetheless. I really think major props need to be given to Rick Clausen though. He done a bang up job in my opinion and done everything he needed to do and at times carried UT on his back today. 26 for 41 for 349 yards with 2 passing TD's, 1 rushing TD, and 2 INT's. The pick six INT wasn't because he done anything wrong, the KY guy made a good play. The other one he was forcing a ball late in the game after it started to rain so I can see where any QB could have made that mistake. With all the negative stuff being said, not saying I don't agree with "some" of it, but I think Rick Clausen needs to be commended for a great game today as he helped UT beat KY and avoid an embarassing home loss to the Kitty Kats. Way to go Rick!

For sure! 349 yards for a third string QB is good by almost anyone's standards. He played a good game. He would have looked even better if that defense could have figured anything out!

We'll find out about RC next week against AU. You better believe they'll be coming for him and making him beat their defense.

Im not gonna take too much stock in his first 2 UT starts because it was Vandy and UK. I will say that it may have boosted his confidence.

Yeah, Auburn will be a huge test and I afraid to find out the grade for that one! Give him a little credit though, he has completed some passes and he is all we have right now.

Actually, we've already seen that earlier in the year. At least we have some game film of Auburn doing what they will do a gain. I think RC has done as good a job as the freshmen. He will not cost us the AU game, but I'm afraid our defense will.

RC's weakness seems to be arm strength. He really has to chuck it to hit deep receivers. Otherwise, I agree that he is playing as well as the 2 Freshmen.

I think he has done well. And who would have thought we would put up
37 and 38 points the last two games as well as having 606 yards of offense
today.

Well, I expect that kind of day everytime that we play Vandy and Kentucky!

He played well. I agree about the armstrength: it's just not there. Also he really needs to focus on limiting the turnovers.

I was surprised by his play, hopefully he'll keep it up. It was sad to only beat Kentucky by 6, but they Boyd made a couple nice throws, and had a few good catches by their receivers.

Slick Rick impressed me with the drive at the end of the first half. He made some bad throws, but I feel a lot better about our chances in the SECCG. He's playing smarter than I expected and I really thought if we were in the position where he had to make the plays to help us win the game we would lose, but we were in that position Saturday and he performed well.
