Has college basketball ever had this much parity?

It’s wide open. I’ll believe it when I see it with Purdue and Painter. His record in March is similar to Barnes’. Houston is good and I could see them making the FF for the second year in a row. There’s still a lot of basketball to play, so we’ll see who can stay healthy or get healthy come tournament time.

Edit: Houston made the FF two years ago.

Purdue is my favorite to win it all simply due to Eddy, but after that there are 12-15 other teams that have a legit chance to the Final Four and beyond. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen this kind of parity in the game. I’m also not sure I like it—for example I believe the 2018-2019 would roll this current bunch but the they’re in that 12-15 team mix.
Or has there ever been a season where everyone is so damned average? One and dones have ruined the college game. Think about just our program and how we'd look with Chandler, Springer, etc. this year. Same could be said all across college basketball. The game would be so much better. So those NBA talents are toiling away on benches and in the d league where very few get to see them play. Sad.

Agreed on Painter and Purdue. Rooting for them but I’ll believe it when I see it.

I support a players choice to go pro out of high school. The NBA and players union screwed up when they raised the entry age to 19. At the time I was in favor of it, but I’ve come around. There are more options now for guys that make the jump out of high school. The rule needs to be rescinded. I believe the NBA reached out to the players union and proposed going back to the 18 age limit, but I’m not sure where it went from there. Maybe it’ll come up at the next CBA negotiation.

I agree, but the money is too much to pass up minus a SIGNIFICANT NIL deal keeping a player in school. It sucks to see impact college players sitting on an NBA bench while the college game wallows in mediocrity.
