He doesn't appear to be the type of person to push the envelope with regard to recruiting.

Butch is a smart man. He'll keep Tennessee out of trouble because he knows it's important to keep this program on the up and up. He doesn't want to take two steps forward and three steps back because of something idiotic. He's not going to get us in trouble like Kiffin did.

I think he took an upper-decker in Saban's hotel room at SEC media days . The NCAA said we don't blame you one bit.

I heard he Butch slapped an NCAA official when they said he had too many commits. The NCAA official apologized and said sign as many as you want.

I was worried about this staff breaking ncaa violations with so much top talent committing to us. But, after hearing all of the players praising the new facilities and the playing time they will get as freshman eased my feelings on worrying about violations. This staff just know how to talk to 18 year old kids and tell them what they want to hear. They have backed the "Best staff in America" talk.

Butch isn't doing this by himself. I imagine Hart and the AD are well aware of his plan and if any violations or oversigning is happening.

Men of principal make the best leaders, CBJ appears to be that kind of man.

Did Kiffin get us in trouble?

Did Kiffin get us in trouble?

The Orange Pride hostesses episode got the probation extended a year or two as I recall. He had 6 significant "secondary" violations in just a few months. Not to mention all of the bad press from the bar fight, Pilot, etc.

Why is it even necessary to ask the question? Doesn't anybody think that prior NCAA trouble would have already been uncovered? You obviously have too much time on your hands!

Butch has never been in trouble with the NCAA. And at Cincy his teams finished first academically in the Big East every year. It sounds like this years team also had a very good year academically which is a huge breath of fresh air.

He is just one of those rare guys who has a combination of a relentless work ethic and charisma and that is why he is so good in recruiting.

Yes he has

He was forced to do 40 pushups for upsetting Nick Saban when he looked at the recruiting rankings and UT was right behind Bama
