It is definitely hinted at. I wonder if that was an accident? If I had not read the books, I would have walked out thinking Snape was his dad.

They mentioned countless times throughout the movies how much he looked like James or acted like him.

very well done, as have all of the previous movies.

While the ending may have seemed anti-climactic, I think it was a fitting end to a story that was all about good defeating evil.
