If he stays healthy hes the better back. Doesnt put the ball on the ground, but the thing I like is he hits it up in there hard, foster tip toes to the line way to much. Foster is pretty good on the toss sweep but just doesnt run hard enough between the tackles. We need a new DC and a new oline coach, we havent been the same powering running team since hes been here, hes got to go. Heck every 3rd and 1 is a nail bitter, its 50/50 at best. Our oline is just not mean and nasty anymore, they play like choir boys.

Hardesty should be the #1 back and bring in Foster on passing downs as hes a good reciever. IMO Foster should only be used as a change of pace back.
The coaches should have taught Him how to hold on to the ball by now sheez.

Against UAB he should be the 3rd back in the game to get a message to him from the coaches. Has Creer fallen off that much since last year?

Man its well known phil plays the seniors that have been around awhile. Foster has been productive over the course of his career here. Last night hardesty was the hot back. I can see that from my living room. I highly doubt dave clawson is missing that from the booth. If so then maybe he isn't the right guy for the job. Makes me wonder if phil is just pulling his chain.

Totally agree, Foster although no matter how much I like him, seems to always find a way to lose us the game.

Can't blame the loss on Foster. Even though he fumbled, it wasn't a guaranteed score. Allowing 9 penalties, a blocked punt and 3 missed field goals lost the game...no ways about it. You can't play anyone and allow mistakes like that.

Hardesty keeps those legs turning, hits the holes without much hesitation and has a burst of speed that has star written all over it..... I second or, like 8th, this suggestion....

I agree you can't blame Foster, but if he kept it outside like it appeared he was going to do then it would've been six.

There's no way Fulmer will have Hardesty jump Foster in the lineup, nor should he. They basically got the same amount of carries and while Hardesty scored it twice, Foster had over twice as many yards. A healthy mix of the two will be great, just got to get them the ball more.

The sad thing is that Foster actually ran the ball pretty well (whenever we did run the ball). Obviously, the fumble was huge, but I'm not sure having Foster in the game cost us as much the rest of the game. We just didn't commit ourselves to running the ball when we had a rattled QB and we were picking up chinks of yards on the ground.

If you watched the game, you know that Hardesty was the better RB. No dancing, just straight forward. Now watch someone post that Foster had more yards. Who cares? It was easy to see who the better RB is.

Ya he is extremely quick off the snap and has some moves. while foster is good, hes good for a couple of those critical fumbles every year. I have been impressed with hardesty the times that has had the chance to play.

You're joking, right? I know no score is a sure thing, but you have got to be kidding me.

 foster is the man...he's proved it. Hardesty is good too....but they are TWOdifferent style backs. We are fortunate to have both .Foster's fumble did'nt loose the game..nor did his leg!;) Keep them both...start 27

Hardesty isn't without his faults, but he's always shown to have the ability to be a stud, but he's never been able to stay healthy. Just because he's healthy now doesn't mean he should just take over as the starter based on one game.

Other than Foster's fumble, he had a good game. They should both see the ball, but Hardesty needs 100% of the workload inside the red zone.

Nah. Arian will start against UAB, get 175 yards and 2-3 meaningless TDS and all will be well again.

People saying that Foster's fumble didn't cost us the game are killing me. How many points did we lose by?

what about the missed field goals? crompton doing nothing and a blown safety? arian didnt lose the game, the team lost the game.

the fumble was huge IMO. if we would have punched it in on that drive, I have no doubt in my mind we would have won. the momentum we would have been too much for UCLA to overcome

Who cares who starts. They are both good and different -- we should use them in sets that best utilize their differences. They both got roughly the same carries -- I like the change of pace.

It doesn't matter to me who starts because both of them usually get alot of touches anyways. But for the of god...Foster needs to learn how to hold on to the ball.

You cannot turn the ball over in the redzone. If we score even a field goal on that drive, we win the game. Our offense was actually moving the ball, and we were about to score. The team may have lost the game, but to believe that play wasn't the most pivotal turn-over is ignorant.

It seems, also, that not only do Foster's fumbles in the Red Zone come in losses... but they also seem to spell the turning point of the game.
