i know the recruiting services and such said that he's the best back theyve seen in 5 years or so, but i'd reserve that judgment about him being in another league until we see him running in a vol game or practice.

Go look at number 1 RB's and number 1 overall prospects ranked by rivals since 2002 and you might change your mind.

i hope your right about bb. but one thing we need on our team is a leader and i believe hardestys ready to be just that. i'm sure bb is very talented but i would give up a little talent for a true leader. i mean sure give bb some carries but i'd go with hardesty as the starter for now.

If CEG said MH was as talented as any running back he had ever coached, then I'll take 'his' word over anybody elses. The bottom line is the days of one back carrying the load is over. Our backfield is very deep and talented now. It will take 2 or 3 backs to carry the load. But more importantly, the improvement of the big uglies up front will be the difference from the recent years, if there is one. UT has the potential of having a Top 5 backfield but 'potential' dont mean a whole lot if it isnt lived up too. Go Vols.

If and that's a huge if, Hardesty can stay healthy, he'll surprise a lot of people with his production.

When I think of MH playing up to potential, I think of that run where he manhandled one or 2 of Cal's linemen in Knoxville a few years back. That's probably been one of TN's more memorable runs, if not plays from the LOS, in the past 5-or-so years. MH's health is his issue, not talent.

BB will definitely get some carries but I do not think he will start as long as MH is healthy. Reggie Bush didn't even start as a freshman and they didn't have someone of MH's caliber in front of him at the time. (Hershel Dennis) MH is a very good back when healthy. Bush also didn't start his sophomore year.

Health is the main concern.I think he had adequate carries last year to prove his ability. I may start him but that doesn't mean he will remain my starter. I still think if BB shows him up in practice you have make him a the starter, but then again Herschel Walker didn't start, I was at the game when he came in off the bench.TROUBLE. I guess we'll see.

After reading this thread I am wondering which MH everyone has been watching for the last three years.

I seem to remember overall suckage besides a small flash now-and-then.

I must have to agree with you on this. I just checked out the overall #1's and the top 5 list, all were/are studs in college except for 2007. That's when they got it wrong with guess who? Jimmy Clausen! Imagine that!

Watch out for Hardesty and Creer tho, nobody likes being showed up.

I think Creer and definitely Poole may be odd men out after Brown and Oku get to campus. Does anyone know if Oku and Brown will be here first summer session?

Creer 73 carries 5.32 ypc
Hardesty 76 carries 3.6 ypc
Foster 131 carries 4.4 ypc

You tell me who the odd man out is

I just don't see Hardesty being the best back we have. I think Creer ends the season with more carries.

Somebody's going to transfer. That's pretty obvious. I don't see how CLK can go the USC route with 4 RBs and satisfy everyone unless we're a powerhouse that blows every team out of the water.
