Hyams was on Nashville radio and said this is the hardest ticket to get in his time covering Vols. Most expensive face value tickets ever. 200+ for second market tickets. The University is expecting 125k+ to descend on Knoxville for either tailgating or attending. So many they have apparently outsourced some crowd mangement.

Get there early and raise hell fellow Vols!

I'm in favor of adding some SRO areas. Would let more people in and give those of us who prefer standing a place that wouldn't bother others.

Wonder if they did? In 2004 we obviously did for the UF game, when we crammed 109k in a 104k seat stadium.

I believe they counted the concession stand workers, players, media, and coaches in that number. I could be wrong, and if there was SRO areas I hope we bring them back.

Students used to get tickets as part of the "activity fee." If the ticket allocation ran out, they got SRO tickets. Now that they have to pay for each ticket, they can't claim a ticket for SRO.

Where at I need two, maybe three tickets in a bad way. I would pay that for good seats. Any ideas, I want to help make the great Neyland rock!!!

Stubhub...official UT partner so you won't get screwed with fakes. MM Row 7 for $145 each...that's not bad.

Haha, I had drank just enough last night that I was ready to make a road trip. Good thing my old lady was not amused.

Was blessed to have a relative who couldn't use their four tickets. I got two, 1st row of the northwest corner of the endzone, for face value ($80). Totally stoked, as otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford to go.

Coincidentally, I sat in the same seats last year when we checkered Neyland. May this year result in a big orange victory.

Hardest ticket to get and I have one, but had to have emergency surgery last night so don't know if I'll make it. But I'm gonna give my all for Tennessee

I've been to 3 national title games. The tickets for this game cost me more than 2 out of the 3. Capitalism at its finest.

Thanks - yeah I have no clue either. I always wondered how we supposedly fit 109k in in the past

The numbers used to be based on everyone inside the stadium. Players, coaches, security, concession workers, etc. Now the numbers are strictly ticket based.

I was one of those SRO attendees back in 1979 for the Notre Dame game. At that time they let the SRO people walk the sidelines behind the fences. Me and a friend of mine wandered back and forth behind the Notre Dame bench watching that game from field level.

Great experience. Especially when we were able to get into a conversation with the Leprechaun during halftime. I have to admit that i was exhausted after that game.

Luckily for me I got free tickets from our food supplier.

For the guys that want SRO, where do you recommend this being located? I just cant thing of place in the stadium where you have another 2k standing that aren't going to be a pain on anyone walking to seats, get a drink, bathroom, etc.

In reality, they didn't. There are about 97,000 seats between the lower and upper bowls in Neyland. How do I know? Well, I was bored one day and went to UT's site and you can count them. Each seat of each section is there with the exception of the Upper W. Sideline but you can get close enough.

Anyway, SRO tickets (when I was in school) were in the S. Upper Deck (GG, HH, II, etc)...as if that area needed more people for the concessions & bathrooms. :loco:

Back when UT sat 104K, it would be almost impossible to get 5,000 more people in the stadium. To put it in perspective, sections G & Q are the largest in Neyland seating over 2600 each. Imagine adding that many people scattered around the stadium.
