Hard to believe the Ohio game cost us so many players. JRM, Sapp and Sutton

all gone for the season. And I may have missed a few others.

Also of rustling notes, Sutton's injury came after we had stopped Ohio on 3rd down but we were offsides, that gave them a first down and Sutton went down the next play.

I'm still not sold that Shoop is the answer though. Our defense has been pushed around and run on every single game this year, even before the injuries.

We're the luckiest team in college football though?

I keep thinking of that game as our worst "loss" of the year even though the score showed it a win. We lost good players, we lost credibility, and we lost confidence - FL patched up that last part. But the Ohio game was just one poorly coached debacle - right on par with N TX. Simply play to win, put them away, and keep the starters off the field; and none of that happened. It's a lot like that adage about arguing with a fool and being dragged down to his level and being beat by experience - we won the game and lost a lot of talent that was needed later. No coach is born knowing everything, but I'm really wondering if this coaching staff can learn all it needs to know to really win in the SEC because frankly, in spite of some fairly brilliant moments, it seems terminally mentally deficient.

That's what happens when you play sloppy and undisciplined football vs. a team that you should crush and get starters off the field.

This part just rustles me blue about Butch. Bama had played the same number of games we had but because they had take care of business they were able to rest their starters and get backups plenty of playing time.

What do we do? Dick around with Appy St and Ohio where starters have to play the whole game, but according to some of the pumpers Butch wanted it that way to keep the teams attention...or something.
