I still remember him hugging the players with tears rolling down his face at his last game. I felt like I needed to, so I just fired off a letter of encouragement and sent it to the address listed in the UT Athletics website.
A few weeks later, I got a letter in the mail and it was from Coach Fulmer, personally written and signed, thanking me and pledging to prayerfully approach the next chapter, and thanking God for his time at Tennessee.
He didn’t have to do that, but it sure impressed me that he did.

He’s a good guy i met him once and he was very friendly and cordial talking to me and my dad.

First saw him 58 years ago, not on a football field but on a baseball diamond. Came home from Chattanooga for the weekend and the TSSAA Regional BB tourney was at Engel Stadium. All the talk was about the big catcher from Franklin County who had signed to play football at UT.

Ran into him a few times on the basketball courts in the PE building. Couldn't believe somebody that big could move so fast.

Thanks for all you did coach, sorry it ended the way it did but looking back you were your own worst enemy.
