It's an odd mood among the Vol Nationals today. A loss to UF should bring major pain yet most here are upbeat.

Are we happy with a close loss? A moral victory?

No. Never.

However, we are happy with:

1. how the team responded to a tough situation
2. how the coaches prepared the players
3. how the coaches performed in the game and
4. signs of great things to come.

So to those gator fans who've told us we are pathetic and sad to be "happy" with a loss; read closer.

Gator fans with half a brain (I'm not speculating on how many there are) can tell the difference between what we're feeling and "being happy with a loss." Those saying it's the latter are just trying to make themselves feel better since they didn't send our team back to Knoxville with their tails between their legs.

I agree, never happy with a moral victory but I was happy the outcome of the game was in doubt late in the 4th....This rivalry is headed for great things again IMO

While I agree with the OP, but I think this game was a big wake up call for them. They can make all the excuses they want they are a vulnerable team and now the entire nation knows it.

I'm happy not getting smacked like we stole something.

I can deal with a hard fought loss, especially considering our QB issues.
