Hamilton's List

I honestly had a dream last night that Lane Kiffin was named head coach. That probably means I've been thinking about this whole thing too much, but yeah...I did actually dream that last night.
I then had a dream that all of my socks were pink. When I asked my wife what had happened, she told me that she did it on purpose, as to help me celebrate breast cancer awareness. Weird!

I would take any of those guys, except Leach. Don't get me wrong Leach is a great coach. Just don't think he is the right guy.

My gut says Kiffin, my heart says Gruden

If you agree that he's a great coach, then what about him makes him the wrong guy in your opinion?

I, personally, think he is the best choice, if we can get him.

Davis is the safest be here. kiffin has no recruiting links to the south. butch would improve the class we have now. BUTCH PLZ COME!!!!!!

DAvis would be a good choice, but I think his next jump is back to the NFL; he really likes the NFL.

I really, really do not want Charlie Strong. He has really only had one great defense; the 2006 Florida defense. Chavis has had better defenses than him with slightly less talent.

Randy Smith (channel 3, Chattanooga) reported that Hamilton's list had Cowher, Kiffin, Gruden, Davis, Leach and Brewster.

Cowher= 149-90 in 15 yrs as head coach
Kiffin=5-15 in 2 yrs as head coach
Gruden=91-78 in 11 yrs as head coach
Davis=61-30 in 12 yrs as head coach
Leach=74-31 in 9 yrs as head coach
Brewster=8-13 in 2 yrs as head coach

"He's making his list, checking it twice. Gonna find out who's naughty or nice..."

If thats the list I'd go after them in this order:

1. Cowher
2. Gruden
3. Davis
4. Kiffin
5. Leach
6. Brewster

If we make all the way to our fifth or sixth option maybe our job isn't as great as we think...

What the heck is going on here......... are the coaches mentioned earlier for the JV team.............. let's not settle for some experimental hire......... get some real interest going....... like a Pete Carroll type ............. folks, this is TENNESSEEE......... the largest fan base....... the largest crowds....... TENNESSEE NEEDS to pull someone already in the NATIONAL spotlight that can consistently draw 4 and 5 star recruits........... because, if not, we're gonna be right back on this board with the same issues in about 18 months,........... Penn State, Auburn, and Kansas State, yes, they're gonna be looking in about 4 weeks too.......... let them take the second tier coaches because that's all their willing to pay.................if we're gonna pay, and yes, we are definitely gonna pay, get someone worth the risk.

These guys are the ones that are worth the risk. The rest either don't want the job or aren't available.

P.S. Vote Gruden!!

Please Lord, not Cowher. I cannot stand to look at him.

Cowher would be a GREAT HC!!!!!!! Gruden says he isn't interested. He told the Tampa Bay Tribune. We shall see. If so, Cowher is the next BEST candidate. We do not want Brewster or Muschamp. Leach would be my third choice behind Cowher and Gruden.

Reaching for a NFL coach that has been in the NFL for that long, is a HUGE reach. It's actually unrealistic. Only a miracle or a LOT of $ will bring either Gruden or Cowher.

Our best options would be the likes of Davis, or Kiffin. Maybe Leach, maybe.

Which one would have a heart attack on the side line first...The "Stach" or "Chuckey"? I'm going with Cowher:furious3:

I think Gruden and Cowher are off the list. Butch Davis has adamantly denied being interested, so he's off the list. If he reversed course now, that would put him in the same league as Saban, and I would have to find a new team to pull for. Can't stand a liar. For any reason.

That leaves (I'm guessing) Kiffin, Leach, Kelly, maybe Peterson, and certainly a few names I (and we) probably don't know about.

Relatively young, a good record, proven recruiter, and energy. There are a few that fit the bill. The trick is finding the right one.

I'm willing to wait for the right one.

Go Vols.
