Hamilton's probably out on a boat right now, with a big cigar and some Makers and water, thinking about all the money he's making and not worrying a big about the football team or any concerns of the fans. He lost touch with reality a long time ago with this team.

yea thats a real rational assumption. I'm sure he just pulled the Pearl hire out of his hind parts while he was in the Carribean with his 19 year old mistress.

I'm not sure what good it will do but here is my email to MH

The current situation in our football program is completely unacceptable. How is it that we have top 10 recruiting classes every year and still continue to struggle? Look at Florida, look at LSU, my god... look at Alabama. They get the same level of talent, the difference is their coaches develop their players. Our coaches have done a good job of this in the past but, the last 4 or 5 years we are being out-manned at every position. This is not due to a lack of talent. Could it be possible that all of our new talent in the last few years has been bust? If so, why were they recruited? I do not believe this is the case. Our current group of freshman players with the exception of Berry and Vinson are taking up space on the sideline. Exceptional talent has been and is being wasted. Why is it that we do not have a special teams coach, when it is so obvious that one is drastically needed? Every other team has one and with the current change in rules of kick-off, I cannot understand the reasoning behind our coach not acquiring a much needed assistant in this area.

Mr. Hamilton, its time for a change. Look what happened at Florida when they went out on a limb and changed their head coach. They won a National Title in their 2nd year. It is a fact that most people do not like change. I am truly proud of what Coach Fulmer has accomplished in his tenure at the helm of the VOLS. Seeing him replaced will bring tears to my eyes, however I'm willing to make that sacrifice because my devotion to my beloved VOLS is much greater than my devotion to one man or any coaching staff. I hope you take my comments into consideration when reviewing the state of our football program.
Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Jerry Ladd

Once again, Mr. Hamilton, our beloved VOLS lost in a blow-out fashion to a bitter rival. You have stated that emotion is not a part of your decision making process. I ask you to rethink this. Emotion MUST play a part of your decision making process, as the lack of emotion from players and coaches alike has attributed to our current situation in our football program. Where is the most important emotion of all - the passion?

I have supported the Tennessee Volunteers, as has generations of my family, through more years than one can count. I attend every home game when my schedule allows, as well as buying Tennessee merchandise for my family, my home, and my vehicles. As the saying goes "I bleed orange"! I do not take sending you this e-mail lightly, it is with a heavy heart that I type these words.

Good email, I share your thoughts exactly. I sent him an email after the florida loss, I'm still too numb to do much other than sulk.

I sent him one, he may not read it but at least he will have to delete it. Maybe just maybe the light will come on.

Does he hold a high enough position to have our opinion heard.

I think so. He was the one who addressed me when they cut back on the student seating. He always responds to my e-mails. I think I've e-mailed him twice. At least you may get something in return whereas with Hamilton won't send anything back. This is infuriating though. I was amazingly embarrassed yesterday and don't feel any better today.

Mike Hamilton called this football team a "product" in the newspaper yesterday. Don't know why, but that just rubbed me the wrong way. What it sounded like to me, was that as long as people keep buying his product, he sees no reason to make a change. Maybe I am reading more into it than that, but shouldn't losing and direction of program be enough to force a change? Don't force people to stop buying your "product" first. If you wait that long, then there will be damage that will take years to repair.
