Hamilton not afraid....

i don't buy any of it.

Hamilton is saying what we want to hear. If he had made a decision already, something would have happened. the fact he's still employed tells me that Hamilton is still in "wait and see" mode. Now, it's completely debatable as to what "wait and see means"....could be if we were to lose this weekend, or hte next, something could happen? of do they let the entire season play out? i don't know. but the comments he made, as hypotheticals, to me are purely self motivated to deflect any criticism at the present time.

all he has to do is make the right decision.......and what happens over the next 6 weeks will dictate that. if we go 7-5 he can find justification for doing nothing and letting Fulmer stick around. if we tank and lose three more games, then he can fire him based on performance and claim later that the direction of the program was at stake blah, blah, blah......but he, himself, doesn't have to decide what direction this program is headed. he's perfectly willing, and probably rightfully so, to let things play out and let that make his decision for him.

this is all political manuerving. Hamilton is saying what we want to hear, and Fulmer is still "working like heck" to get better. and he was very shrewd in mentioning his close friendships with those at the trustee level....you don't think Fulmer hasn't been in contact with some of those guys? Hamilton is a politician doing what politicians do.

as far as i can tell, it's still status quo until a change is made.

Maybe Hamilton, Fulmer and the powers that be are waiting until after a win to announce a change, rather than after a loss.

I'm in 100% agreement with you on this one jake, unless we go winless the rest of the way I see CPF right back on the sidelines next year, the same on the field results next year however, will bring about the end of the Fulmer era, Hamilton then will simply have no choice.

Fan apathy is growing every day. The football program funds a whole lot more than just football. They would be cutting their own throats to keep the status quo.

Gawd will the politics never end? CPF's jockeing for financial best case scenario, Hamilton's working towards being looked at as consevative yet effective, I'll bet the guy that locks up at night after sweeping up is always lookin for hidden cameras so he can say he's workin like heck.

No. Any big time college program will have it.

i've been thinking the same rex, but he will be replaced at seasons end if we have 6 or less wins. it's definitely looking that way....

Even if this guy wins out and goes 8-4, this guy needs to go. You can't have fans going through this every season. There is no reason to believe that next year or the next year won't be any different. Florida is a loss next year. UGA is better than we are. Bama is better than we are right now... that is 3 losses off the bat.

Don't forget that we will face UCLA again... and you know for a fact that they will be better next year. And we will play at Ole Miss, which, at this point could very easily be a loss. With Auburn on the decline and South Carolina at home, we might get those wins. But I have no confidence in any better than a 7-5 record next year with this staff. They just can't hack it unless our horses are significantly stronger and faster... and they're not anymore.

It now appears that once again Hamilton is catching grief from Fulmer and those that matter for going public....much like his expectaions of a few years ago changed...I expect he has already been put in timeout for this unfortunate article!

I knew Pearl was going to be great from day one! Like Bruce Pearl, when Pearl was at Milwaukee. Patterson is doing an awesome job with far less talent than UT. His recruiting classes are mainly in the 30-80 range in the nation. Patterson has to recruit against Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, and LSU. All these schools are within a 7 hour drive of Fort Worth.

Sooners Offense vs Longhorns Defense

Rush Yds avg TD long
26 48 1.8 0 13

pass yards avg TD int
28/41 387 9.4 5 2

Sooners Offense vs TCU Defense

Rush Yds avg TD long
36 25 0.7 1 7

pass yards avg TD int
19/34 411 12.1 4 0

Oklahoma got almost half of their offensive yard total in the first quarter. TCU made adjustments and held them to 200 yards in three quarters. Oklahoma averages 164 yards per game on the ground. TCU held them to 25 yards for a .7 yard per carry average! TCU ran for 102 yards versus the Sooners for a 2.9 yard average.

Consider this, Patterson's team kicked BYUs tail. TCU has much less talent on paper than us. Chavis would have went to the ' mustang ' all day versus BYU. We lose to BYU with much more talent than TCU!!! TCU holds BYU to 26 pts below their season average. Remember, they scored 59 versus UCLA.

Below is what Patterson's defense did versus BYU.

Rush Yds avg TD long
28 23 0.8 1 13

pass yards avg TD int
22/42 274 6.5 0 2

Can you imagine what Patterson could do with our defense? Great defensive and offensive lines win championships. TCU is 1st in the NCCA with only 21 yards allowed on the ground. While the offense rushes for 233 yards per game which is 11th in the nation.

No, TCU doesn't play the caliber of teams we play. But, they don't have the caliber of players we have either. It all comes down to fundamentals and schemes. Patterson would win a few National Titles with the talent we get. :yahoo:

Everyone thinks Fulmer is one of the few who can recruit great out of state talent, BS. Did you know? Fulmer was 0-9 versus Florida in the last recruiting class. He was 2-15 versus Bama. And, Fulmer let our best two in state prospects land in Bama. Fulmer is washed up in all aspects of coaching!!!!!!!
