Given inside word that he's gone in June. TIFWIW. has something to do with investigation taking place then as well.

clean house sooner rather than later and demonstrate an action plan to restore the integrity of the Athletic Dept.

that could hurt your chances in hiring a coach because they would see a another A D that did not hire them.

I have a feeling that the delay in a official UT announcement could be related to this....

Good point, I wondered why there was no official press conference or statement from UT. Anyone else have any insight as to why no conference or statement other than it is because Hamilton is gone too?

He Needs to go NOW!!!!!

I think that the President/ Chancellor should let Hamilton believe that if he makes a home run hire then he'll keep his job (just so he'll try his hardest). Then after (and only after) he does get that home run hire boot his rear end to the curb just like he did Pearl, with no regard to what he has done for the University. If he doesn't get that home run hire then boot him AND his choice for Head Basketball Coach when the basketball team falls flat.

But then again y'all may just have to pardon my Anger ridden Rant. I'll be pissed for quite a while about how this whole mess was handled by the NCAA. We lost the best basketball coach this university has seen just as he was picking up steam, just because of a bunch of !@#@#%^#$^#!$! hypocrites. (wife made me censor that last part)

What part of "he lied and is getting the BB team put on probation, loss of scholarships, and possible postseason ban" did you not understand?

Pearl put the hole in his own boat

There's no doubt in anyone's mind that Pearl caused this mess himself. That said, the reality of the situation is that the AA is "showing it's power" because someone wasn't truthful...let's get real...how many times each year does untruthfulness happen in college athletics!

The AA has it's power trip on, and intimidated UT...pure and simple. We'll see how other similar situations are handled going forward (OSU comes to mind).

That said...just read the article about Hammie and his assuring recruits this month that Bruce would be the coach. Hmmmm. Lying to the AA is BAD. Lying to recruits...ahhh, not so much. Lying to recruits happens all the time, at all schools. OK...good to go.

Hammie botched this up so bad it's a joke. Oh, by the way, alumn...got any money for us to throw a few bricks around? He has been the biggest farce in the country for an AD. Period.

Yes...I support Pearl. Yes, he royally screwed up. Should he have been fired...I can see both sides...but wish he hadn't. What is really poor is the double talk from the athletic department.

Pearl came in from outside UT and actually poured himself into the program, and I honestly believes loves the place. For that, I would have accepted a year or two of punishment from the AA. Hell, it couldn't have been any worse than having a coach come in with no team (as it appears we're gonna have the next couple of years).

Poor management, Mr. Hamilton. Very poor. Time to go.

With the issues we have on our plate with the NCAA, we can't be sanctimonious. Our problems run deep and across multiple sports. However, Hamilton hired the two coaches at fault (Kiffin and Pearl), and should set the tone for the department. We need a culture change and it has to start at the top.

Hamilton's tenure has been a complete disaster. Not much success on the playing fields and now serious issues with the NCAA. I agree with the crazed poster above. HE HAS TO BE FIRED.

By the way, if this is what Haslam's influence brings about, you folks who still live in the great Volunteer State are in for some tough years ahead with him in the governor's chair.

well apparently the NCAA committee meeting on the investigation has something to do with this and apparently that is happening in June or around June. The details coming will not look good on him and it will be enough to justify his stepping down or firing. I have no other details, but I heard this from a family member who works with powerful people (boosters).

Like I said, TIFWIW. I'll cross my fingers. Hopefully when June comes I can say "I told ya so" and it'll give me street cred cause I have none at this point. :)
