Same for me - I don't see any realistic "home run" names out there, so I don't have a favorite guy. Hamilton built some equity with me with the Pearl hire (and yes, I know some say it was Grunfeld, either way MH's name is on the deal), so I'm more than happy to trust him on this one. I love that Hamilton is managing to keep the search pretty quiet, and I think it is a good sign.I must say that it's a breath of fresh air to know that an executive can do their job at a prestigious university in this day and age without the national/local medias having a clue to what he is doing. I'm proud of Hammy for doing what he is doing, no matter if I agree with the hire or not.
Chavis can't hold O's jock when it comes to recruiting. As a DC, who knows? Orgeron is a great DL coach (as good as there is in the country). I just don't like Chavis's schemes (too passive). I guarantee O would be much more aggressive.
I hope your and many others faith in him is warrented, I really do. Because if he's announced as successor he'll have my hopes and support....even though I get the impression he's just a beneficiary of the approval of the west coast's version of the good ole boy network. He interviews on TV ok, he's slim and looks good on camera, he was on Carroll's staff a short tenure in various functions, and he apparently impressed Al Davis with his interview skills. That's about all I know of him, and yet many think he's a golden boy. Maybe he is and if he's hired is I certainly hope so, because we may just find out.Kiffin isn't a home run name, but I think it will be a home run hire. We won't know for a few years, but I'm pretty confident he will be a success.
Wanted Chavis gone before sanders. O is an impact DC, wont put up with BS from players, recruiter de jour. Solid caller. I like him regardless of the new HC. I think Chief sees the writing on the wall. He will coach again somewhere. Hopefully it's in the SEC.
