I remember back in 1974 when D4H said that Larry Seivers was "Future HOF'er" calling him an "elite prospect". he said then that he was a "top 10 pick", instead of where he went at 111 to the Seahawks. wow, he is good! :pilot:

Yep. That guy is good. Went under screen name W4H in those days. Watson for Heisman of course. He used punch cards for input and a 300kbs connection to post. Was still as bullseye accurate as today. Pretty sure he's the VN Talent Scout equivalent that Rod Wilks and Paul Bain are on the field.

Majors and Wilson are locks. I'm not so sure about Seivers, even bough he was arguably the best receiver to play at Tennessee at the time he was in school.

Did LS do anything in the NFL? Never remember him after UT.

I vaguely recall him getting drafted by the Seattle Seahawks, but he was eventually cut. Seivers big problem at the next level was a lack of speed. He could catch anything thrown in his area because of his superior catching ability and height. I can recall numerous instances when he made catches that saved games for Tennessee. His two (2) most famous catches were against Clemson in 1974 (two point conversion at the end of the game on a pass from Holloway) and later that same season against Maryland in the Liberty Bowl at the end of the game from Randy Wallace.

There were other great catches he made that were just as incredible. He made a catch in the 1975 Auburn and Alabama games that were probably as good as any he ever made. The catch against Auburn saved a win at the end and the Alabama catch was for a touchdown that was our only score that day. He made some great catches against North Texas State (yes, that North Texas State) in 1976 that will not be remembered because we lost that game.

EDIT: I found some of these catches. The one with Gus Manning is fairly famous and is just after the catch vs. Clemson in 1974. The other two are the 1975 Auburn catch and one of his more spectacular catches vs. North Texas State.
