Saw this on another board and thought it was funny:

Bob Kesling relayed this story

As longtime UT personality Gus Manning sat down to lunch at a Lexington restaurant Saturday afternoon, a young waiter and UK fan respectfully approached the table of Manning, who was wearing his UT garb.

“Today’s the day we end the streak, sir,” the waiter said. “Tennessee is going down tonight.”

“Son,” Gus replied, “that’s the same thing your grandfather told me.”

Gus is one of my favorite people.

Ask him about ANY sport at UT and he can give you the rundown on it. Until the last couple of years, he sat front row for just about every Lady Vol softball game (now they let him sit in one of the boxes). He's at Volleyball. He and Heywood (when healthy) are regulars on press row at men's and women's basketball. He can still tell you who our best swimmer is. And he can do all of it with a wit that hasn't slowed one bit. Gus is a National Treasure.
