No there is absolutely not one side protecting your rights. If you believe that you're fooling yourself. The leader of the right has already made that decision and implemented more restrictions than the last guy did. More have been threatened

I don’t have nor have I ever owned a bump stock , to me ( my opinion only ) they are garbage and an after market add on to my firearm . They in no part are covered under the 2a ( my opinion ) as they don’t stop me from my right to bear arms . What else you got ?

The bump stock ban you are referring to is more of a property rights violation than a 2A violation. Neither PARTY has any respect for individual rights however conservatives have immensely more respect for individual rights than the liberal left.

I've now come around to your way of thinking on this seeing how he is flipping around to the "must do something even if it changes nothing" crowd.

I see expansion of background checks and implementing red flag laws as probably where he will go this time. I don't know about the assault weapons ban, probably after the next example of misuse of one. Then it will be confiscation/buy back instead of "grand fathered" like the last one and no sunset date.

It's coming.

That's how you interpret it and it's fine. However it would not be banned if it wasn't part of a firearm. Same as certain mags

People say that about ar's or handguns too. It simply doesn't matter what part you choose to use and what part you don't. Rights belong to us all

Wrong an AR is just a model of the firearm ( right to bear arms ) same with any model of pistol . A different look or style doesn’t change the fact that’s its a firearm . Those people that say that are the ones wanting firearms banned .

It's an accessory that can be added to a firearm that isn't integral with it's operation, think scope. A magazine is a necessary piece of the weapons system.

Look, Trump lost me with the bump stock ban due to it's infringement on property rights, you want to bash him all day over that fine, I'm with ya. However it's dishonest and disingenuous to make it a 2A issue.

Nope. The bump stock ban isn't a 2A issue, it's a property rights issue. I can't think of a single item that was legal one day and whether by congressional legislation or executive order illegal the next where a grandfather clause or compensation wasn't involved. If this EO stands any POTUS at any time can unilaterally without check outlaw anything.

It's the biggest Turd of his administration which is why I can't believe the leftist haven't been screeching about it. This is the most unconstitutional and authoritarian action Trump has taken and hardly a peep from his detractors, they even celebrate it.
