Gun control debate (merged)

Well now we know how the Sandy Hook people are trying to make a suit stick against Remington. It's through a State law where they're trying to make and end run on the PLCAA by claiming

"firearms suppliers who engage in truly unethical and irresponsible marketing practices promoting criminal conduct"

To me that looks like an awfully high bar but with the ruling it looks like things are closer to having it hashed out in court.

Conn. Lawsuit By Sandy Hook Families Against Remington Is Allowed To Move Forward

I hope they lose and have to pay all of the court costs and attorneys fees.

The language in this bills just blows my mind . A minor will commit a crime for posting a picture of a water gun fight with a super soaker or a paintball round with his teenage friends , neither of which is illegal for them to have AND THEN .. the parents can be forced to attend “ parenting classes “ where they are taught not to allows the kids to post something that is NOT ilegal for them to have . you just can’t make this stuff up lol
Or you post a picture of a duck hunt with your kids. So the kid should be arrested and you should have to go to parenting class. These are the people that want to have a talk about ”common sense” gun control. They are morons.

If a gun manufacturer can be sued and held liable then.....

If I'm Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, Nissan etc.. I'm looking at hiring more lawyers.

They just don't stop...

Dems Debut National Ammo Control Bill in Congress :: Guns.com

An effort to close what bill’s supporters term the “ammo loophole” would make mandatory background checks the nationwide norm for ammunition sales.

Under measures proposed in the House by Florida’s Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the Senate by Connecticut’s Richard Blumenthal, would-be ammunition buyers would have to be first vetted by the FBI’s National Instant Background Check System. The lawmakers, allied with national gun control groups, say the move to add controls to bullet sales would help save lives.

Wasserman Schultz’s bill, entered Wednesday as HR 1705 with 54 co-sponsors, would force potentially millions of ammunition purchases into the already swamped NICS clearinghouse where transfers would be approved, delayed or denied. Those with a valid state-issued firearms permit issued within the past five years would not have to submit to a check before they could buy ammo. Exceptions would be allowed for police and the military as well as those sharing ammunition between immediate family, such as spouses, or temporary transfers “necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm”

They're coming.
They’re already here. Read this crap from the article.

Currently four states — Connecticut, Illinois, Massachusetts, and New Jersey — require firearms licenses for ammo sales but not federal background checks on purchases. Initiatives enacted in California in 2016 and New York in 2013 are closer to the proposed new plan, requiring checks at purchase, but each has a troubled track record.

They are going to create a run on ammo In the year it takes for it to kick in like we have never seen then they will just cause ammo to be a black market item . It will be crazy but I’ll be stocked up and sitting on a gold mine 😊

Looks like I’ll stock up soon.

Think about this..... not only is Remington getting sued, I bet each of their component suppliers are as well.... unless they make 100% of their parts and assemble them
