Gun control debate (merged)

It's like arguing that a seat belt can't be a good thing just because people still get injured/killed while wearing them. There is but a single "one size fits all" aspect to carrying a firearm; if you need one you'll either have one or you won't. All other considerations are subject to a myriad of case specific contexts and variables.

I am shocked GV. I assumed you knew the difference in someone being wise and someone who thinks they are smart.

So what would happen if someone wisely thought themselves to be smart?

GA BUSINESS OWNER REQUIRES ALL EMPLOYEES TO CARRY A GUN | In the Greenroom - Fox & Friends | Fox News

Georgia business owner Lance Toland's change in company policy requires all 12 of his employees to carry handguns while at work. Guns he’ll provide, so long as his employees obtain a concealed weapons permit. On FOX & Friends this morning he defended his decision to carry out the policy.

“You can't rely on the police to be there. They're going to be there eventually, but they're not going to be there when the perpetrator comes.”

I think somewhere in the article he said most of his employees were women. The Judge isn't IMO what the average female should be carrying. Hell, I don't see why a man would want to carry one.
I keep one by the bed, loaded with different rounds, from PDX BB's and discs to buckshot to 1,000 fps .45 Buffalo Bore 255 grain Long Colts. If the right one don't get you, then the left one will.

Not sure about "normal" self-defense but I talked to a guy at a shop several years back and he said they were selling the hell out of them to people that worked in the bush as snake guns.

They are very versatile. You can load them to kill snakes up to intruders. The only thing you don't want to do is try to stop someone with bird shot out of a short barreled revolver. They don't have the muzzle velocity to penetrate very far with lightweight shot.
They make specific loads for the Judge and the S&W Governor that have copper jacketed buckshot, instead of soft lead. I have shot mine through 4 water filled jugs lined in a row, which represented the equivalent of over 12 inches of penetration in a human. They pack a pretty good punch.

It's the problem that I'd guarantee nobody in that office ever practices with it.

Yep. About all its good for.
It is as good as any .45 Long Colt revolver. Ask people in the old West how they liked being shot with one. Plus, you can load with buckshot that will stop a human and give you a little leeway if you miss a bit. The buckshot give you a fairly tight pattern , but you have a decent chance of a hit with 4 or 5 .36 caliber balls that will penetrate like a .45.
