Gun control debate (merged)

I guess the question that needs to be asked is, for those of you wanting to ban guns, how do you plan on taking them?

The ultimate irony of this debate. They're leading the charge against police brutality and yet want all the weapons to be concentrated in their hands.

Democrats propose federal gun buyback | TheHill

"Although no one piece of legislation will eliminate all gun violence, this bill will get guns off the streets and keep them out of the hands of people who wish to cause harm,” Payne said. "If we can get one gun off the street, if we can save one life, then we have to take action.”

Bnhunt, I don't feel comfortable with you roaming free in society and believe that you and your ideas are a danger to my family. Since there is nothing specific in the Constitution that says "bnhunt shall remain free," I believe that the Founding Fathers did not intend for you to do so. Therefore, I will write my representatives advocating for your immediate imprisonment.

A constitutional scholar, you are not.

Lol what a joke.

It's sad that most of the gun grabbers don't have the courage of their convictions to man up and knock on doors themselves. They'll send someone's son or daughter in service to the state to do their bidding. Man up and knock on the door and tell Americans that utilize weapons to protect themselves and their families that you are frightened by their possession of a firearm. I bet you don't get very far before you get kicked in the teeth. Rightfully so, I might add.

I take it you would be for federal mandatory breathalyzer ignition locks on all vehicles in the U.S.?

Damn straight with all you right-wing Rambos out there willing to shoot anything and anyone at the drop of a hat because you have the second amendment right to do so.

Actually, I would. Driving is a privilege, not a right, unless the right to drive was added as a constitutional amendment and I missed it. Therefore, it can be regulated by the state or federal gov't as they see fit.

I fear people like you much more than I do the government.

Then shut your mouth and keep your distance from people who value real freedom.

You and I have entirely different definitions of what freedom is, buddy. I consider freedom the ability for myself and my family to walk around in public without the fear that a private citizen, who thinks he is Rambo, will be "defending himself" and start shooting.

Let me clue you in on something, the world is a dangerous place. If you aren't careful and you walk around looking like easy prey, someone's gonna eat your lunch. The only right to safety or protection you have is the protection you provide yourself.
You'll say, the cops will be there to help. Yeah, after the fact they'll show up to write a report, if you're lucky enough to survive the encounter. When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

Outlawing swimming pools would probably saves hundreds of lives. Should swimming pools around the country be filled by federal mandate also?

Actually, I'd shoot someone in self defense because it's my right to protect myself.

Ahhhh yes.

Kill the babies because I had too much to drink on Friday but dont defend your property.

Gotcha.

Unlike your wonderful party who wants to force everyone to have babies, but as soon as they have the babies and can't afford to care for them, you call them "freeloaders" and want to refuse to provide them any services. Can't have it both ways, buddy.

And still waiting on you to answer the questions posed to you specifically a couple of days ago.

The last time I checked swimming pools weren't a danger to my family or children unless I chose to take them to the pool. There is a legal term for that, it is called "assumption of the risk". The difference between swimming pools and guns is that I assume the risk if I choose to take myself or family to the pool, but I have no choice if I am in public and some gun nut decides to open fire thinking he is "defending" himself.
