Excellent piece of work

I thought that was supposed to be "What a piece of Work"

I think CLK has done well with the hand he was dealt....I expect superlative coaching this fall and a stellar class of recruits next year

Good read, as always lex.

Let me ask you a question, though, in light of what you say about realizing some recruits have left because of the coaching changes (and I completely agree that them's the breaks if you want to truly start over, like Kiffin has): Does this mean that the UT football team, like our economy, is going to have to go through a period where things get worse before they get better?

I appreciate the kind words from everyone.

Gator...if we had a proven QB we would have fewer growing pains. I think we bottomed out last year. We are going to find some talent on this team, and I expect it to be much more physical.

I think it is possible that we are far enough behind that it will take three recruiting classes (including what we get this time around) to catch up.

If Monte and O can work some kind of magic with our defensive front it may take one less. I really believe people woefully underestimate this staff's understanding of game day x's and o's but I am definitely in the minority with that opinion.

I agree that it will take a minimum of 3 recruiting classes along with the culture and position coaching changes to catch FL, AL, LSU, GA.

Hopefully UM and FSU will eventually get their act together to put some additional pressure on FL.

I didn't mean to imply that we need to change the current coaches but rather the changes that have already been made.

It's amazing to me now that my Fulmer colored glasses are gone how many issues this program had.

pretty much where i am right now.

i've touched on this whenever we get in to the "expectation" debate, but the reality is, it will likely be 3 years at minimum before you can put a LK stamp on this team and see whether or not this thing is progressing in a fashion we all want to see.

as for the recruiting effort, i'm no expert and i don't follow it near as close as some, i do think it noteworthy that he got some of the visits he's been able to get in such short time. Because when speaking of relationships, it's difficult to expect this staff this year to turn some committs that have been in with some coaches for two years.

but getting them to campus because they were intrigued enough to at least see for themselves.....that will pay dividends for future classes.

and Lex....who uses a CD player? just plug in the ipod brother!

The sheik of the burning sand actually likes something...Obama you copy?:p This years class isn't much different than any class I've seen in 35 seasons. All the names are just that names...with expectations. It's chemistry, coaching, and luck. Every seaon is like Christmas...it is what it is.

Ooh man. Not to make this about me, but I didn't think I was that much of a nancy negative. My apologies. :eek:hmy:

I like a lot of the stuff that gets written here; I just forget that people can't see me lurking and nodding. :)
