The general public is much more enamored with the Vol/Kiffin marriage than I could have ever imagined. This isn't about what he is selling. It is just the fact that people (not just UT fans) can't get enough.

LG, even you have to admit that Brown lends tons of credibility to the new recruiting machine.

good stuff as always Lex.

that's fair considering he's still 0-0 in the w/l column.

and i'm just going to keep saying it....regardless of what happens this year......there's absolutely no reason to not think the future looks bright.

you of all people should know what kind of adrenaline shot this program needed, and so far so good.

but none of us are naive enough to think that the swooning taking place will mean anything if it doesn't translate on to the field at some point.

so far, he's delivered on what he said opening day.

at this point, that's all you can ask for. mission accomplished.

it brings up another thought i've had for years. i've always wondered what it would be like for us to be the aggressor. the agitator. for years, we've been privy to the "good 'ol boy" style of Phil Fulmer. Grin and bear it. don't give them anything they can use. and it translated in to some very good success, but also wound up being the primary reason he's no longer here.

Today, we have a coach like a steve spurrier, at least in attitude anyway. and for all of us that know how it's been on the Hil the past several years, the team takes on the personality of the coach. and that was no more evident than watching TN play the last 5 years.

it'll be interesting to see how this team takes to it's new personality. Further, watching this program develop over the next few years, i think the imprint and competitive nature Kiffin wants for this program is almost night to day from the attitude and philisophical nature Fulmer had for it. Some of that is very good, but i do think there will be some things, eh, for lack of a better word "lost".
very well said Jakez, good post.

After the recruitment of Brown, your new theme song is officially "Give me Back My Bullets".

Great read, Lex!!!!

Kiffin definitely sells!

He's such a hot item, ESPN had to interrupt their daily Kiffin segment to update the college football world on the number #1 recruit's decision.

Coach Lane Kiffin is nothing short of exactly what the doctor ordered for UT football.

The man is a PR genius, a recruit's best friend, a head coach who knows how to staff with the best talent to develop players from HS excellence to NFL paychecks, and I've got a feeling we're even going to see an excellent game day coach this fall.

That basically means... UT football is coming back!!

Go Vols!

Thanks for that shot of Kool-Aid, Lex!:good!:

Great post, Jake!

It's awesome to see level-headed posters like you and Lex getting excited about our prospects again.

It's easy for me to see the positive. I'm a little slower at putting together the negatives.

And, it's a ton of fun to be the agitator. Who knew we do that coming off one of the worst seasons in UT football history?

This is so much fun, it's probably not legal!
