Guitar Shots: Spring Wrap

Good read and agree that besides quarterback, linebacker may be our biggest weakness as of right now.

To some extent I disagree.

A 9 win season + 1 win in a bowl game.( 9 + 1 )

logic vs heart and kool-aid.

I will never allow logic to over rule heart, determination,or the historical significance of being a Volunteer. To many intangibles to clog the brain when dealing with logic.Tennessee football has always been about the enjoyment of the game.As a fan who has seen 4 + decades of Vols football their is something special brewing. You can waste your time logically or enjoy the ride as an enthusiast, oblivious to the concerns of those who have lost the joy to the effects of kool-aid.Soaring to new heights in a brilliant orange sun or free falling into a blazing orange hell.Logic has a way of hindering the full experience of either....

Everyone thinks differently so maybe it's just me.

Just out of curiosity Lex, how did you know some fellow Volnationers were sitting by you at the game?

These LBs are getting a bit of a bad rap this spring. As a group, they have the speed to compete.... and when this defense is completely unleashed(blitzes on/Berry full speed) their looks will get better.

Also, Nick Reveiz is not Al Wilson, but when I watch him play Wilson is the name that comes to mind. Nick is a Wilson type dynamo. High energy, vocal leader. You can actually see the defense rally around this guy. He's going to be a bright spot for the defense.

I watched intently. I realize the scheme was vanilla, but I just think that they had trouble shedding blocks and scraping. I hope to goodness I am wrong, but it seemed way too easy for the guards to hold them up.

Without having been able to watch the O&W game, I can't really comment on what exactly you saw but this has been a big concern of mine for this year. Everyone has ultimate faith in our new coaches, as do I, eventually. I'm just not sure that the personnel here play the way we want right away. To your point, I'm afraid we don't have the speed at LB right now to look like what people seem to be anticipating. Hope I'm wrong.

And did you just make a Dead Milkmen reference? This place surprises me more and more every day.
