Receivers did good on the 50/50 balls
Right, and throws down the sideline is what we've needed to do the last 2 years. Finally we do it. I remember way back in 1989 in Birmingham we went to Andy Kelley. He just kept slinging it the the most talented receiving corps we ever had. Eventually it worked and we scored many. It was too late, but it began our run for greatness. Keep slinging it JG!

I hope he takes this win and the confidence that comes with and uses it as his default setting. If he does I think we'll see even more consistency. Early in the game he seemed hot and cold but I have nothing but praise for him today.

Yeah, I dont think its so much hate, but doubt as before today he has shown hardly any promise. He did a good job in starting to change that perspective today, hopefully it continues.
But I dont think anyone has ever questioned the guys toughness and commitment..

If our O-Line continues to improve JG and our WRs will be lighting up the scoreboard by seasons end

Agree. Hope that Pruitt and Helton will gain enough confidence in the pass game to reverse their usual game plan and use it (pass game) to set up the run. 1.9 yards per carry is painful to watch in a 2 to 1 run to pass ratio.

He’s been far from the biggest problem the Vols have had this yr. today showed what he’s capable of with time. Imagine if they could pick up a 3rd and 1occassionally?

Guarantano still has some stuff to fix but he has shown improvement every game. That is a good sign and should show that not only is the kid willing but that this staff is developing players.

Agree. They are developing pretty well. JG. Has a very long throwing range. I just think he needs to be more cocky. Inmyopinion! He needs more fire. Had a little more yesterday but he needs to be the true leader

Could not help but remember Jeff Olsweski (sp?) and the 1980 Vols went to Auburn and put a 40-0 whipping on the Tigers. We went 5-6 that season but played our best game of the year in Jordan-Hare. That game led to Auburn firing Barfield and hiring an assistant off the Bama staff named Pat Dye.
