27 for 36 (75%) for 344 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT. QBR 155.27

I see him as doing nothing but getting better as time goes on.

Yeah, I have really enjoyed watching him play.

If they would just open the playbook up and let him play. They run it up the middle 27 times for every one pass they let him throw...

He will get better as time goes on as long as he has a functional offense to run, competent coaching and competent OL play....

Different system may do him some good. Hope he gets one. Whole offense is bad. Oline, wrs, qb play. It's been terrible. Been a long time since i'd like to just fast forward through the rest of the year. I'm at that point. This offense is a eye sore.

We have a starting qb that has never thrown a td pass, correct?
I'd go a little easy on him there. We also have recievers that are injured (Smith, Callaway), an OC that is afraid to throw over the middle or the long ball, and tackles that block the wrong guy and let folks into the backfield a little early. The guy has gotten hammered. Sure - he holds on to it just a tad long - freshman mistake. He can spin it.

Oh yeah, seems like 2 years ago.

Indeed it does. I think he could have a couple more TD passes if they threw the ball a bit more. And I think the end of the SCar game should have been a TD. I mean the WR should have caught it.

JG is very talented. JG is both suffering and benefitting from hyper conservative game plans designed to prevent him from losing games... which also prevents him from winning games. The limit of any and all Vol QB's is more a function of Butch Jones and his system than their talent. Playing in a "good" SEC system... JG would have twice the yardage at least, several TD's, and an INT or two. UT would have scored more points and would have won the USCe and UK games.

If you are going to use what WR's "should have done"... Dormady should have had only 2 picks and at least 8 TD passes.

Sadly, that too is a product of Butch Jones' "system".

Good point OP...only place he has to go is up...can't really see him getting any worse....another reason I hope we get either Gruden or Mullen...they could Def help develop this kid and give him a playbook that works to his advantage!

I bet you hate puppies, boobs and beer don't you?

Nope, just people who assume way too much from one post...

Very impressed by the way he protects the football. Has like most Freshman a lot to work on.

Going to be interesting to see how he develops if Butch will be fired and the Wide receivers stop be big micro managed.

I do agree with Butch a ton of the passing game problems are at wide receiver.
BUT HE DECIDED TO COACH WIDE RECEIVER this year!

Look up how many games Dobbs started before throwing a TD pass.

Dobbs started as a true Fr... not a RS Fr. His first 4 games were against #7 Bama, #5 Mizzou, #2 Auburn, and #24 Vandy. He had no game experience at all before entering the game vs Bama.

JG has faced one ranked team.... and 3 bad teams as a starter. He had significant playing time prior to becoming the starter.

Dobbs was well ahead of where JG is now as a true Fr headed into the end of the season. He was a better runner by miles. Understood the O better. And though I think Dobbs exhibited limitations as a passer... he completed over 60% of his passes in his first 4 starts with 3 of those opponents being ranked.

Did you finally pull your head out of there long enough to get a breath of air?

I have never been against JG. I have said NUMEROUS times that he's a talented guy who simply wasn't ready to play.

I am against the MORONS who a) judge the two guys with bias and b) trash Dormady for really no reason other than protecting their ego which they attached to JG.

I have stated DOZENS of times that I think both guys have talent and that both suffer from playing for Jones in his ridiculous "system" with a supporting cast that Jones FAILED to recruit and develop well.

The QB's get too much blame. The problems with this O aren't... and have not been... the QB position. They start with Jones... he is about 90% of what's wrong.
