I have not lived there for many years but I am from Grundy County Tennessee. I read a few days ago that they had hired Tracy Hayworth as Head football coach, I am glad Grundy has finally moved out of the stone age and decided to be serious about putting together a winning football program. Hayworth played for the Vols and drafted by the Detroit lions. Kudo's to Leon Woodlee who is the new AD.

It’s definitely a step in the right direction, but there will always be wild a** racist hillbillies up there. I’m from Manchester, I know that area too well.

While it shames me to have to agree there is sill a lot of prejudice there, you have that attitude everywhere in the world. But love and compassion has to start somewhere, with someone or else nothing ever changes.

Hayworth and Hobby were good book end DE's on an otherwise average defense in '89.

If he builds a winning culture, even the worst redneck will come around. It just takes time and patience.

And the coach having neighbors that the rednecks are afraid of wouldn't hurt.

Congrats to Tracy and hope he has success on top of ol' Monteagle mountain. Which my wifey gives me heck about it every time we drive over it laughing about our "mountains" in Tennessee. She's from Denver and every time we go over Monteagle, "those aren't mountains, they're FAUX mountains!!!" followed by a lot of laughing and cackling, it's pretty brutal.

They’re mountains, just smaller mountains. We can’t control what the big man upstairs put in this area lol.

Educate your spousal unit. Don't let her wallow in ignorance. The Appalachian mountains are MUCH older than the Rockies and have "matured" while the Rockies remain immature. Furthermore, it is FACT!

Lol, I've tried some of that and what I get in return is through her brutal laughter, "so you're saying mountains "followed by finger quote signs" in Tennessee are high enough to carry snow on them year round, right?" followed by onomatopoeias <snort chortle snort snicker squizik snort snarkedy snark snort sladap snort> it's just a no win situation at this point.

Average defense you say, no doubt the offense was very good but the defense stepped up when it had to many times. You don't go 11-1 with a average defense, they weren't the best but they played hard and were opportunistic. GBO!!!!!

Let her know that geologically the Tennessee Mountains are like great grand daddy Mountains and the Rockies are infants. The Tn mountains rivaled the Himalayas at one point.

But I lived in Colorado for a year, those are a pretty sight.
