Gruden should keep entire offensive staff (if hired)

Why, exactly is Chaney getting all the hate here? It just so happens that 3 of the 4 teams in the SEC with a better scoring offense than us HAVE PLAYED US and our pitiful defense (currently last in the league). Bray's interceptions have been bad, but those are on him. We are 3rd in the SEC in YPG. We have a better rushing attack than we have had in a long time. Things seem to be clicking on that side of the ball, even if it doesn't look pretty.

It's because you can draw plays in the dirt and score with this offense against anybody.

Chaney has not gotten the best out of his offense, period.

He has failed to develop Bray; we have no "identity" on offense; we had the whole "philosophy" discussion in the off-season where Dooley bought into the idea that we don't have a good O-line and can't run the ball (false, again); we are the most boom or bust offense I have ever seen at Tennessee. I can remember two quality sustained drives all season.

Bottom line: several times this season the offense has had a chance to win the game at the end... and failed every time.

Thank goodness a lot of people see it on this side of Volnation. Yes, the defense is the worst ever at Tennessee. The offense is not the #1 problem. But I think with a real SEC OC, we could have overcome the Sunseri / Clawson effect.

Second half offensive scoring

UGA- 7
Alabama- 0
S. Carolina- 14

Mississippi- 21
Vanderbilt- 10
Kentucky- 10
North Carolina- 10 (including two overtimes)

2011

Georgia- 6
LSU- 0
Alabama- 0
South Carolina- 0
MTSU- 0
Arkansas- 0

Vanderbilt- 13 (including pick 6 in OT to win)
Kentucky- 7

2012

NC State- 13
Ga. State- 23
Florida- 6
Akron- 24
UGA- 14
Miss. State 17
Alabama- 3

With Chaney as the OC playcaller we look like this in the second half...

For the entire schedule, we average 10.5 ppg in the second half.

Against SEC opponents, we average 8.35 ppg in the second half.

These stats include overtimes, turnovers that put us in scoring position before the offense took the field, and defensive scores.

Please tell me that you actually think Chaney should stick around. He should have been gone after last year.

thanks for posting
