Best picture in all of sports history.

I laugh everytime.

It's crazy to think about but everything happened so perfectly for that picture to take place. And then the photographer timed it spot on. He had to have been a Seal Team Sniper.

The guy giving the thumbs up has to be the most famous unnamed fan in history. I salute you, sir. I wish it were me.

Spencer Hall wrote a hilarious article about this photo on Every Day Should Be Saturday where he gave a fictional backstory on everyone in the photo. It was a riot. I'll try to find it and post.

EDIT: Here you go.

THE ALABAMA/TENNESSEE ZODIAC, REVEALED

With the Portal, I think players like Al Wilson will be very rare. What will have to happen is a great player/leader grows up in the State and has an unwavering passion for his State team that stays with him for life.
This will be called the Rare Breed higher than any 5* and almost extinct now.

Big Al is my favorite Vol ever, but that is a breed of player which cannot exist is football anymore. He was way to violent for todays cupcake players and NCAA rules. He would be suspended every game. I remember him taking guys out just about every game. He hurt guys trying to block him or that got in his way.

He came from a different era of football. Kids aren't wired like that anymore. We've become a spoiled, soft society. To'oto'o will ride pine at Bama.. He can't cover a cold.

ROFL....funny, I vividly remember kids in Al Wilson's "era" being called spoiled and soft; almost like that's just some tired, lazy cliche that's constantly repeated generation to generation.

Not to mention how funny it is a guy people on here praised now suddenly is "soft and spoiled". I don't know, just maybe the soft and spoiled ones are the fans because they sure do bitch the most.

Haha! Good point. Is that what we were saying when HT snuffed that RB/QB to save the UK game?

When badass players come to mind I can't get much past Jack "Hacksaw" Reynolds..

If we had an entire team filled with guys like Gaulden that disliked Alabama as much as the fans do then we might have a chance of beating them. My favorite part about that picture is the Tennessee fan giving the thumbs up of approval haha.

Man, the thread title got my hopes up.

Seriously, I would love to see a longitudinal study of the correlation between player scores on the Duckworth short-form Grit Scale and their decisions to stick with their first schools or transfer when encountering difficulty. I think it would be very eye opening.

Can we just clone Al Wilson? Have an entire defense made of him? Would that be considered violence against the other team?

No love for HT or his disloyalty, but the kid played A state championship game on a broken foot and the second half of a game for us with a slightly dislocated kneecap. Whatever he is, it’s not soft.

A statue based on that whole photo with Rashaan Gaulden, the bama fans, and the thumbs up Tennessee guy should be erected outside gate 21 at Neyland.

Sending someone across the middle to meet Henry T probably isn’t an option. He hasn’t met anyone across the middle in over a year

He'll be the toughest SOB who ever wore a hole in Alabama's bench.
