Gregg Doyel opinons on Kiffin and UT

I made a thread 6 or so months ago asking who the f*** was Gregg Doyel and was laughed at. Now this clown writes an article that basically assumes that the hiring of Pearl had nothing to do with the advice given to Hamilton by Ernie Grunfeld and we are supposed to still think this guy is credible?

But no. Today it feels better to help than to hurt, so today I will help Clemson and Tennessee and Syracuse -- well, maybe Syracuse can't do any better than Kiffin -- by telling them to kindly, but swiftly, pull your head out of your ass and understand who Kiffin is. And who he is not.

Who he is: A terrible NFL head coach. Bill Callahan, not Bill Cowher. True, the Raiders are poisonous. But Kiffin didn't do anything to make them better. The Raiders sucked before he got there, and the Raiders sucked while he was there, and the Raiders suck now that he's gone. Kiffin had no impact. Zero.

One thing to remember though,is he was forced to keep the DC,and he wasn't to "big" on Russel,so it seems like his hands where tied.

-A rookie QB that didn't know the playbook well
-A DC that wasn't getting the job done.

At Tennessee he can bring his own staff in from top to bottom and that might make a difference. Now don't get me wrong I'm not a Kiffin "guy",but he was in a terrible position at Oakland.

Anything associated with the Oakland Raiders is in a terrible position.

Craig Doye stated this about Kiffin and UT or Clemson fans.

"Look at that résumé, and tell me where it says -- or even suggests -- that Kiffin will win enough at Clemson or Tennessee to keep those lunatics happy."

I guess since we've been on a down hill curve for a while and NOTHING, I mean absolutely NOTHING gave any indication we would rebound.

We must be lunatics! ONLY FOR WAITING SO LONG!

I haven't read that guy much but just from that article it looks like he's a Shock Journalist like Howard Stern is a Shock Jock. Except Howard Stern is somewhat good at what he does.

That guy and his column is a joke. I bet this guy's favorite sport is tennis or something. Ignorance just dripping from that column:puke5:

I've read Doyel's columns at length for some time and he is an arrogant, self-absorbed ass. He is the internet version of John Adams. Sometimes, even a blind squirrel like Adams can write an acorn in the form of a spot-on column. Doyel's assessment of Kiffin IMO is spot-on.

Isn't Doyel a UT fan? I may be wrong thought he was. Maybe he likes someone else and is politicking.

Doyel says Kiffen would run the program in the ground. If our program went down any further than it is now under Fulmer, the Chinese would have orange popping up in their yards.

When did Doyel gain a position at Tennessee where he had a say if he would or wouldn't let anything happen?

I still don't see how we were idiots for taking basketball advice from the Pump Brothers.

I think we look just fine in TBA right now.

Which is why his little rant lost it's credibility the minute he typed that. Hell, it lost it when he typed his name
