Anyone else see this on SEC Now last night? Greg McElroy and Marcus Spears were kinda fooling around during a segment and McElroy let it slip that he likes Alvin Kamara's NFL potential as much Leonard Fournette. He said he would go in the 2nd-3rd round but someone would be getting a major steal. Really gushed about him being a beast at the next level. He also said that Cam Sutton is the second best player on the team after Kamara.

Can't say I disagree. I love the NFL potential of both guys. Alvin really took his game to the next level this year. Transformed his body to be more explosive than he was last year. And he really showed the nation what he could do in that game against A&M. I've already been on the record saying he'll be a pro-bowl RB in the NFL. His ceiling is Marshall Faulk-esque.

And obviously Cam will be a star in the NFL. The guy just exudes NFL All-Pro. Hopefully he comes back strong in a few weeks, kills at the Senior Bowl and combine, and goes in the first round like he deserves.

Did you notice at the end of John Kelly's 35 yrd run in the SC game, where he indistinctly rolled to his back?

Man, I wish we'd been using Kelly sooner this year. Weren't the coaches raving, last year, about Kelly and F-a? Why were we not / why are we not using these type younger guys to help move the ball down the field in certain situations, in the big games (FL, GA, VT) BEFORE injuries? Yeah, Kelly was in ATM, but only because JH was out. Goodness.

Butch Jones is simply a terrible coach. No other reason.

I have a feeling that in 2-3 years we're gonna look at the NFL and see several players from this team dominating in the pros and we'll be wondering why we never won anything with them while they were in college ala LSU wondering how they didn't win while they had Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, and Jeremy Hill on the same team. And I'll be here to say Butch Jones.

I think we run the table, but I am not so sure it's good we win the EAST just to get plastered by Bama for a 4th loss. May hurt the quality of bowl we get....just maybe...:)

NFL ceiling not as high as those 2. Barnett has definitely been our best performer this year. But he isn't our best player. That distinction goes to Cam Sutton or Alvin Kamara.

Not sure how you can say that. DLine translates much better at the next level than CB or RB.

Barnett will leave UT ahead of Reggie White in the sacks category and possibly #1 in TFL.

Quit quoting him...we've heard this multiple times.

Barnett is not that gifted physically. In the NFL he'll be undersized and slow for his position.

Kamara and Sutton on the other hand are elite athletically.

I always go with the better athletes when it comes to projecting to the NFL. The likelihood guys like Barnett (high effort guys who aren't the most gifted athletically) become stars is low.

All of these "facts" D4H lays out about Barnett is why he will go in the first round. <eye roll>

He decided to stick with what worked last year. I dont blame him. If hurd didn't suck, Jones would not have looked silly.

You seriously need to stop with your NFL analysis. Barnett is one of the best defenders in all of CF. As much as I love Sutton and AK, the same cannot be said about those two at their respective positions.

Derek Barnett is without a doubt out best player.

I don't think winning the east solidifies a #2 spot in the SEC, we would probably be more like #4

That's true. If we lost in the SEC championship that could actually hurt us in the bowl selection.

Regardless, some games are about chance. I'd rather play in the SEC championship.

Incorrect. He may be underweight but that is relatively easy fix. I don't know why I'm even discussing this with you because your eye for talent is garbage.

Wouldn't 2007 be a good example of losing in the SEC Championship and not going to an elite bowl?
