Yep, your coaching search forum looks just about like ours on Hogville.net. Just wanted to stop by and see who you guys were hoping for. I hope we both get who we need to get our programs back on track. The consensus over our way seems to be Petersen and I think he would be a solid hire for us.

Petrino will never be welcomed back to Arkansas as a coach but I really think someone (maybe y'all?) should pick him up. He's not stupid . . . he learned his lesson. He and his family have reconciled and I honestly believe he's a better man for having survived this whole ordeal.

Anyway, my 2 cents fwiw. Good luck on your search! WPS!

All we need now is some from Auburn and have a good old fashion "Looking For A New Coach" shindig.


What's the backup(s) in case the Peterson deal falls thru? I think Petersen leaving is about the same as Patterson at TCU....Ziltch, Zada, Nada.

No way hogs get Petersen, would be an awsome hire tho. And I could live with Petrino, guys is a very good coach.

FTR we're making a gigantic mistake not hiring BP. People will realize this when AU is winning 10 games a year and we're still mediocre.

Can you guy imagine....
Arky lands Peterson, we somehow land Patterson and Aub gets Petrino, the SEC would be a true murderers row. With that much coaching talent in one conference it would be nearly impossible for an SEC team to go undefeated, and if they could god help the other teams in the playoff lol.

To answer the original post, half the posters are holding out for Gruden despite his denials and believe the entire coaching search is a conspiracy designed to cover for Gruden until he finishes his Monday Night Football gig. Another quarter want an amalgam of Urban Meyer, Jimbo Fisher, Charlie Strong, Chris Petersen, and Larry Fedora, preferably for $750,000 a year. That 25% wouldn't take any of them because they lost a game here and there. 24% just want the bleeping thing over. 1% want Fulmer back.

I'm sure you all will get a good coach piggy. You're AD has done a good job of doing all he can to get a great coach for your program.

Your AD went after the best guy available with all you had in Gruden, and then made a serious play for a great coach at your biggest rival.

Our AD is woefully inept, and according to the writers closest to the athletic department didn't even have Gruden as his #1 target.

We will be mediocre at best for the next three years until we make another firing and hiring, and you all will be back among the SEC West's big boys by next season. Congrats. Good leadership in the AD makes all the difference.
