Just in case y'all find yourselves perusing our site, lemme be the first to say hello and welcome you to VolNation. We're pretty big on hospitality around here, being from the South and all.....y'all are more than welcome to join in the discussion as long as you can keep it civil (our super-mod "Freak" gets a little cranky at times, but we throw him a bottle of Mr. Daniels' finest and it sorts him right out). Vols, I ask, and I know it don't mean a lot, but let's play nice with Hawkeye fans.

We got a couple of water heads around here (kinda like any other fanbase), so know that if disrespect happens, it ain't indicative of our fan base as a whole.

In closing, welcome to VN, and we're all looking forward to a hard-fought bowl game this year!!!

You forgot, we also throw Nathan's hot dogs at Freak when he's ornery.

Hello Iowa. As DEM said, ignore any of the idiots, and bring good decent discussion to the board and we will be glad to have it. I personally do not know much about your team except your coach makes crap loads of money for some reason. We are really young as a team. Played more true freshmen, something like 23, than anybody in the country. We have started more true freshman than any team in the country this year as well from what I currently know. IIRC, as we only have about 5 seniors in our 2 deep for the offense and defense combined. Our starting QB for the season was lost to a shoulder injury, and we had to take the redshirt off of Josh Dobbs. We have had a lot of injuries this year. This is nothing you can not find out yourselves, just gives you a little synopsis of the team. GO VOLS.

My crew is from up north in Larchwood. Not many folks there, but those are my people. That and Unicoi County.

Can anyone actually point out Iowa on a blank map?

I actually think it is a very identifiable state because of its unique features. The top and bottom borders of the state are almost completely straight while the sides are very jagged.

I've been to the University of Iowa (Iowa City) on a speaking engagement. Its a very nice campus. It has a lot of history, especially being the make or break spot for presidential candidates. I ate breakfast at the historic diner Hamburg Inn. Naturally, I sat in the same booth that President Reagan once sat.

I hope their fans that visit this site don't judge the whole lot of Vols fans based on the loud minority. Between Memphis, West Virginia, and Iowa posts, there's enough material to keep the objective entertained for years.
